Youre and idiot...why should I have to pay more..when I should be able to watch all the teams I want on and "un"bias national sports channel...I shouldnt have to pay anymore then already do now to see all the teams....
Hawks fan, sorry but it is unbiased. Its market driven, there are just more people tuning into a Sox game, Yanks game, Dodgers game, Mets game. Then there is a Marlins, Brewers, Mariners etc....
Its just statistical fact. The fact that "you" want to see other teams play (and believe me I'm with you, I like getting the chance to see every team multiple times) doesn't mean the collective do.
The second reason is the fact that by playing against the teams that draw well nationally (BoSox, Yanks, Mets, Dodgers for examples) you are exposing more fans to that other team. An average fan may have never seen Hanley Ramirez play a game. But he tunes into a Mets/Marlins game. HanRam has a good game, and guess what? Its on the national stage with a big audience. A new Marlins fan is born, because one of the brightest young stars in the league got exposed to a huge audience. Next thing you know maybe the Marlins lock down HanRam to a $70m contract extension with all the new national media revenue.
Same scenerio with Hanley, but now he's going against the Pirates.....comparively, no one is watching....no one cares, the exposure for the Marlins is much less. NO new revenue, no contract extension. But hey, at least the 1% core diehard fan got to see Ian Snell pitch....
