the ONLY player that had the kind of start that was way out of left field was JJ Hardy. but guess what, you were referring to the first two. and Hardy had never played a full season before last year.

one of your initial points was that none of these guys exhibited this kind of potential before. but bill hall hit 35 homers the year before in his first season as a full time starter.
