I live outside Philly and see either the "I am a phillies fan for life (as long as they are winning), the I have loved Boston my whole life fan (at least since they took over for the yankees as the world series favorites)  or the saggy drawered yakees fan. 

i guess i am not the only one that wants to hurl when i see the red, or brown, or green and red white and blue yankees hat.

The article and most of what people have said is true.  The problem, success leads to parasites in sports.  Every team has false fans, you see them when a team wins and they show no support during the losing times (and get angry when a team is supposed to be good and plays below their expeted level), there just happen to be more people in NY.

As for all those that say "Yankees Suck," well that shows that fans of other teams have levels as well.  Those on that level are the ones with inferiority complexes.  How about supporting your own team and stop wasting energy hating another.  I'm sure during the early 90's you didn't even care that the Yankees existed.
