Detroit needs to make some major moves in order to have a chance to make the playoffs! First of we need to send Justin Verlander to play for the Mudhens in Triple A, because hopefully he will find his stuff after starting 1-6 with an ERA of 6.43. I mean we don't need to send him down just yet we need to wait for Dontrelle Willis to get some pitches out of the bullpen they bring Dontrelle Willis back into the rotation. Armando Galarraga we take Justin Verlander's spot while he will be throwing in Toledo.

Our second move should be to trade off Jacque Jones and Jeremy Bonderman for any  young talent that we can get our hands on. The Jacque Jones and Jeremy Bonderman problems I believe have already been fixed with Matt Joyce, our new lefty bat OF, and Armando Galarraga, our new righty starter. We brought in Jones becuase we needed a lefty bat to add to our strongly right handed batting order, yet Matt Joyce could easily be the answer to our prayers if he can develop more contact because he is already a great fielder. Then Armando Galarraga is 2-1 with an ERA of 3.07 could become a great starter if  he gets the time to develop which should not take long after his last few starts. Yet if we make this trade before or after we send Justin Verlander to Triple A we could always bring up Rick Porcello, our future ace, to take his spot for a while.

If all of this could work out we may be able to see baseball played in October at Comerica Park.

What a tool. Send Verlander to AAA and bring up Rick Porcello from Single A. Good idea.  LOL

What if Porcello (who is one year out 0f high school) gets his butt kicked in the majors? What will that do for his devlopment?

Armando Galarraga has been in the minors since 1999.....did you know that?

And Matt Joyce has solved our left field problem.....gotta love that one. You mean the guy that is 1 for 11 so far?

We listened - and we laughed.

Sending Verlander down might be a little premature as would it would it be to bring up Porcello too early.  However, some of the Tigers staff doesn't have much minor league experience.  Verlander has only 7 minor league games beyond A-ball, Dontrel only has 6 and Bonderman went straight from A to the majors.

I think that may be a big part of the problem stats.

I agree.  Some players can learn in the majors and some can't.  Colorado sent Franklin Morales to the minors a couple weeks ago and I think I read he threw a no hitter down there.
