When are we going to win with authority?  It seems that every win we get has to go down to the last pitch in the 9th inning with the game on the line.  I want our guys to play like they are supposed to (and paid like) and get some strong victories.  Any thoughts?

The old Iffster was talking to our GM, Slippery Dave. I asked him, "Now Dave, how can fans help out our under-achieving ball club this season?" Dave said, while adjusting his money belt, "I think the best think a regular Marlin fan....errr....Tiger fan can do to help us, is to go out and buy as many tickets as they can this season. Buy two and bring your dog or blowup doll."

Personally, the redoubtable Iffster is going to support the nine by sitting in the middle of the floor and chanting his mantra....Eldon Auker, John Wockenfuss; Eldon Auker, John Wockenfuss,  while he holds a picture of Craig Monroe.

Oh yeah, if all that fails....buy a Dominoes pizza.

Our pitching hasnt been there yet this season, especially our starting pitching.  Most of our wins have been where the team comes from behind after giving up some early runs.  I would like to see a strong pitching performance from a starter, so we wouldnt have to count on our hittrs and bullpen to pull out a win.  I agree with you on that, TigersFaithful!

I never felt like we had great pitching, but it still should get us 92-94 wins. HA. These boys got too "mentally fat" during the off season reading about 1000 runs and 110 W's.

HA AGAIN.  If need be, bring the whole triple A team in and let them play.  What the heck, there is only ONE American League team that is worst.  Thank you Seattle.

Iffy every win right now is a blessing , everyone seems to be a struggle, felt more comfortable LY at this time and look how that turned out. pitching just can't shut anybody down, if they could put together a week of good pitching where they were act. in control of games the hitters could relax. they prob. feel like if they don.t score 8 runs a night they can't win.

Eldon Auker??  How old are you Iffy 100?  Yeah he was a good pitcher back in the 30's...helped us to the 35 series...were you there.

And Johnny Wockenfuss?? You want him,...a backup who was good at a pinch hit ..hit and run...sweet. We never won a series with him on our team. But we did trade him for Willie Hernandez and Bergman who helped us win in 84.

Thats your mantra..thats your big solution....a dead guy who played in the 30's and threw underhand,.....and a career backup.  Maybe your not a superarmchair GM.

Maybe going on the road will help this team! They have not used "the CoPa" as a home field this season. The fans are becoming VERY restless with the team's apparent lack of energy. Let's hope they can beat Pettite and win 4-5 on the trip.

Dad-burn-it, I'm going to Chase Field this weekend and straightin' this whole thing out.

I guarantee this:

Tigers will win 2 of 3 from the Baby-Backs or I will never post my blah-blah here again.

Iffy is ALWAYS there. From Jimmy Barrett to Icehouse Wilson, from Tommy Bridges to Mike Rabelo,  from Champ Summers to Ray Oyler.......he knows it all. That is why the Iffster knows a very flawed and over-hyped team when he sees one. Give me the 1961 club any day.

Ooooh big name dropper...wow you know names.

Let me have turn.....from Ty Cobb to Alan Trammell to Lance Parrish to Pudge Rodriguez to Al Kaline...look at me i can name drop. Im smart!

You must be off your rocker with all of the 3rd person references...its as if youve already passed away!  Flawed overhyped...lets see what ball club doesnt have flaws...youre not happy with the D-backs line-up...but wait they are doing great,,i guess the old iffster could have built a better team. If only you were involved in MLB in some way besides watching games at the old folks home and writing about them on the computer!   I guess the guy who knows so much about baseball you dont just get to acquire any player you want its not that easy..

I was at the game today...it was pouring rain but the stadium was f
