I posted the AFC part of this this on the Indy board and thought that others would like to make their opinions known too. Going into the summer camps, who do you think the top 8 teams are in the AFC, NFC and the NFL?

AFC:

1. Patriots (respect to the AFC champ)

2. Colts (if healthy, Pats short reign is over)

3. Chargers (they're good, real good)

4. Jaguars (if WR's become playmakers...)

5. Steelers (they have been so up and down..up again?)

6. Ravens (now that the McNair experiment is over)

7. Browns (if they get some defense)

8. Jets (cause the Titans and Texans bave too tough a schedule)

NFC:

1. Giants (again out of respect)

2. Cowboys (the most complete team in the NFC that money can buy)

3. Saints (if healthy and new defenders actually make tackles)

4. Packers (they run and play D, they have WR's do they have a QB)

5. Seahawks (they win the west by default, win 11 playing .500 rest of the way)

6. Buccaneers (one of the 40 QB's will lead the way)

7. Eagles (McNabb to Samuel, can he play offense too)

8. Vikings (they run and tackle, can you name 1 receiver though)

Overall:

1. Patriots 2. Colts 3. Chargers 4. Jaguars 5. Giants 6. Cowboys 7. Steelers 8. Saints

I don't know about having the Saints over the Packers. The Packers defense is head over heals more talented then the Saints and the Packers offense will still be better without Brett Favre. BUT I do see the Saints or the Panthers winning the NFC South.

Here's my list for the NFC:

1) Cowboys (still better then the Giants)

2) Packers (again still better then the Giants)

3) Eagles (If McNabb stays healthy they stay here if not they drop)

4) Saints

5) Giants

6) Vikings

7) Panthers

8) Cardinals

AFC:

1) Patriots (getting old but they still look like playoff material)

2) Chargers (beat the Colts last meeting)

3) Colts (Peyton Manning= playoff material)

4) Jaguars (I love Drew-jones, he's a beast)

5) Steelers (possibly the best RB tandem in the NFL)

6) Browns (to me, the 3rd best offense in the AFC behind the Colts and Pats)

7) Raiders (yep, they will step it up this year, alot of talent on this team)

8) Ravens (They just need to get that offense working)

5) GiantsSour feelings after choking to them, or do you just think the defending Super Bowl Champs should be ranked out of the top 25% of teams in the NFC?
Drew-jonesLOL
5) Steelers (possibly the best RB tandem in the NFL)I'm just going to pretend you forgot about the Vikings when you typed that so I won't have to stand the idiocy of that statement.

WTF? You've got the Panthers, RavensRaiders, Cards listed as part of the top 8 of their respective conferences? Jesus you're high. Why not put in the Dolphins in there as number 9?

Ravens (They just need to get that offense working)This could be said about almost any team that rounds out the bottom half of the leauge. Much less the bottom third.

Top 6 Teams in each Division

AFC

1. New England:   With there main  Core still in tact there still the team to beat despite the loss of a few  players in the off season

2. Indianapolis: The Colts suffered the SB curse and slid a little bit..but still have a good offense and a pretty good defense *

3. Sandiego:   If healthy --- you dont know how far this team could've gone in 2007.... *

4. Pittsburgh :  Big Ben and the Steelers had an odd last season....and Cleveland is slowly moving up on them...but there still in the top 5 as far as good AFC teams *

5. Cleveland: The Browns have added more potential depth to there already good team.....and should be challenging the steelers in the division *

6. Jacksonville: The Jaguars need to add more depth and talent  at WR  ( Unless the ones they have  step it up in 08 )in order to finally become one of the elite teams in the AFC...they have off and on seasons ( much like the steelers have ) .....and have to be carefull of falling off the radar with teams like Cleveland and Houston getting better.....

NFC

1. Dallas:  The Cowboys still one of the best teams in the division but theres one problem can Romo  take the next step and Lead Dallas to there first superbowl in 13 years - *

2. New York Giants: The Giants snuck up on the league and suprised all on there way to a superbowl title.....but they wont do that this year! can they defend there crown with a HUGE target on there back? *

3. Green Bay: They have one of the youngest teams in the League...but the problem now lies at QB --- can Rodgers step up in the absence of Favre ( who retired ) and keep this team on a competitive level? He has the talent around him  --- also theres a question at CB.....Woodson and Harris are getting old and harris got burned in the NFC championship ..... they need help at corner  -have   they  fixed the problem in the draft? *

4. Seattle: They play in a mediocre division ...and have added some talent via the NFL Draft --- with Coach Holmgren pushing this team every year to take the next step will they manage to make noise in the playoffs with this being his last year? *

5. Tampay Bay: The Bucs have talent -- but over the last couple of years have had a huge question mark at QB..... They need one of there QBs to step up or this team flounders quickly..... they cant afford too with New Orleans possibly catching up and Carolina right behind ..this could be a divsion race where the winner wins by one game. *

6. Minnesota : The Vikings have a decent defense....but lack the WR's to help Jackson Progress and  Peterson cant  carry this team alone...Jackson is also  a  Question.....this is his third year ( usually the time the QB takes the next step in getting better and leading their t eam ) but his stats havent proved different..and with Booty and Vet QB Gus Frerotte ....and his leash is now getting shorter. *

Rankings ( both Divisions )  top 10 ---

1. New England   2. Indianapolis  3. Dallas     4. New York    5. Sandeigo    6. Green Bay      7.   Pittsburgh   8.Cleveland   9. Jacksonville  10. Seattle

Sleeper Picks

****    New  Orleans:   The question isnt about talent  ( they obviously have it ) its "can Reggie  Bush be the full time EXSPLOSIVE RB he was drafted to be... there Defense must also prove they can hang with the Dallas's and NY Giants In the NFC *

****   Washington:   Washington Quietly won 4 straight and slipped into the Playoffs  - it will be tough to repeat that with Dallas and NY getting better in their division ( and Philadelphia trying to prove last years disaster was a fluke ) - Washington brought in  receiver   Mathis ( Houston ) and  used there draft picks to Aquire   Thomas ( Michigan State ) , Fred Davis : TE  (  USC ) ,  Malcom Kelly : WR ( Oklahoma ) .... added another Offensive Lineman  (  Chad Rinehart: Northern Iowa ), a Backup QB ( Colt Brennan: Hawaii )    Depth at defense ( adding  2 CB'S , a DE and a S ) and a Punter... if these picks pan out they could improveon offense and made steps to make there defense younger. *

You guys got lucky in Green Bay, all Jarrett Bush had to do was jump on the fumble and we would have won the game.
