A simple question, which may cause plenty of fire, but if the Knicks are willing to throw this much money for a coach, and D'Antoni wants success, imagine King James in a D'Antoni system.

I believe we'll have to wait until 2010 until he's a free agent and the cap restrictions are lifted.

He'd be perfect.  Lebron plays no D and Diantoni doesn't coach any.

they need to be a successful team first and the coach isnt the problem, the old gm that loaded the team with overpaid point guards none of which are interested in passing, a center not interested in running and other assorted albatross contracts is the probem, theres a salary cap thing that wont let lebron go there unless cleveland is wanting a bunch of pieces of assorted crap that make up new yorks roster

It's a very good possibility that LeBron could be in a Knick uniform starting in 2010 but I'm not convinced that D'Antoni is the right coach for the Knicks. His system won't work with this team and his neglect for defense is counter productive to what the Knicks need most from their next coach.

How about the so called king james stay in Cleveland ant they build a team around him.  If Cleveland looses him they might as well move the team to Baltimore.

Not too crazy of an idea.  Lebron has never hidden the fact that he's infatuated with NY and is an avid Yankees fan, much to the consternation of the city of Cleveland.  Also despite all the shorfalls and dissapointments of the Knicks these last few seasons Madison Square Garden is still pretty much accepted as the Mecca of basketball.

I dont know....could Lebron leave Cleveland, his home.  Leave all his friends, people he went to school with, his lifelong friends?  For more money?  Maybe, it could happen but I think he would probably stay with the Cavs unless the situation there gets too bad.

I think James could be persuaded to leave.  He has little talent around him in Cleveland and all of that dead-weight is dragging him down.  He has repeatedly asked his front office to bring in some help and they responded with......Ben Wallace, a one dimensional defender/rebounder whose block and rebound numbers are slipping with age.  James will be frustrated enough to leave if that continues.
As to whether the Knicks will land him, who can say.  It won't be cheap or easy.
