Seriously, the days of Yankee and Red Sox domination are over. Tampa Bay is now in the mix...In the central, even KC is a young and upcoming team. Certainly the Angels might be playing the best now in the AL West. In the National League, Florida now has the best record in baseball. The Houston Astros just whipped the Dodgers at Dodger stadium, 3 straight. They are only 1 1/2 out.  The Dbacks can' t field lately and can't hit (especiallly with risp) but perhaps have the best starting rotation in the National League.

I think this year we will see perhaps the best races we have seen in a couple decades, simply because every team has some glaring weaknesses and will not be able to sustain prolonged winning streaks for great stretches of time.

That's why I'm not too worried about the slump the D'Backs are in currently. They still are on track to win about 95 games and, like you said, no teams look that awesome.

Arizona has one great thing working in their favor. With the starting pitching they have, they should stay away from long losing streaks. Their current problems look like nothing that a little time won't take care off. Besides Orlando Hudson and Doug Davis, the team is healthy...and even those two will be back in short order.

Exactly iffy!  Sure it was disappointing because a case could be made for hwo we may have won allthree games at Chicago. But, they will have their problems as well. I don't think they were all that terrific except for Lee.

But think how rotten the Dodgers must feel. They went into every game knowing they could have gained on the Dbacks and blew every one of them. How frustrated they must be feeling, especially with their top starter and top reliever, Braxton, doing worst of all. Even Colorado could have closed the gap and lost to San Diego, the lightest hitting team in the National League, twice.

You put these three games behind you and move on.
