Back to Swisher, I honestly think it's time for Brian Anderson in center. Let;s just come out and say it, Swisher SUCKS in center ! His range is horrible, his arm is bad, and I wanted to punch the TV last night when he tried to throw out a runner at home last night, sailing the throw past the cutoff man, and allowing Garret Anderson to get to 2nd, and eventually score the Angels second run. We are at a major defensive disadvantage in the OF as long as he is out there. I have seen at least 10 balls that he did not get to in CF that BA would have, including the one that would have preserved Floyd's no hitter.
Brian Anderson, right now, is also a better hitter than Swisher. Quick what do Billy Koch, Mark Mulder, Jason Giambi, Barrry Zito, and a few others have in common ? All guys Billy Beane let go of who went on to do near nothing or a lot less after leaving Oakland. Maybe ole Billy knows something......
The worst part about all of this, is that with the exception of Quentin, none of our young postition players are getting any PT and are not getting developed. Give Swish some bench time, and Thome and Konerko too, and let BA play. He can't hit worse than anyone else right now. Same goes for Ramirez at 2B for Uribe.
