Who will lead the Giants in batting average this year?

Thru 38 games in the '08 season:

Rowand: .348

Molina: .282

Lewis: .276

Winn: .288

It's good to see most of the team start hitting, moving the team to the middle of the pack in terms of batting average. Their situational hitting is still lousy. They are leaving way to many on base or, like Castillo on Sunday, hitting into too many double plays. Surprising stat comparison this morning: the Giants have one more homerun as a team than the A's. The A's have been much better driving runs in, however.

Rowand is the best average hitter the Giants have. Whatever pop he has in his bat is just a bonus.

Aaron Rowand is our only productive bat as of late.  We have got to have more guys that can get the job done.  look at some of our other stats.  we have 1 over 20 runs (Castillo) 2 over 15 (Monlina and Castillo) and if we stay in the west and look at the D-backs...they have 6 players over 20 runs and 7 over 15.  same scenario with RBI's we have 1 player over 20 and 2 over 15....the D-backs you ask? have 3 players over 20 and 7 over 15.

So if you ask me I dont care if Rowand has a .550 average....we need more as a whole when it comes to producing.  One player with a good average isnt going to cut it.

But hey at least it shows that we still know how to sign a player that can produce off FA.

Sorry bad stat. its Fred Lewis with at least 15 runs not Bengie.

Molina is the only cat with 20 RBI's

...u know i just thought of this its pretty sad when your catcher has the most RBI's on the team.

but hey we are what 7 back from 1st. and 3rd in our division...not bad with all things considered.
