Good work on the research...you are correct!

In 1993, changes to the Patriots' uniforms and logo were rolled out by owner James Orthwein and NFL Properties [4] . Apparently, due to the original 1960s-vintage "Pat the Patriot" logo being the most ornate and graphically detailed logo to be used anywhere in North American professional sports up to that time, with the associated greater expense with its replication for use, it was replaced with the silhouette of a Patriot's head wearing a red-white-and-blue tricorne hat — a symbol that was nicknamed the "Flying Elvis" by fans [5] , and was also jokingly compared to the logo of Colonial lunchmeats. The team's jerseys were changed from red to "Patriot" (dark) blue with red numbers, and both the helmets and pants from white to silver [6] .

Robert Kraft didn't buy the team until 1994 when Parcells

Pats actually lost to the Giants in the Superbowl, not the Colts. Probably just a typo. I don't think its just Belichick. This goes beyond the Pats. Specter said yesterday that Walsh saw the Jets filiming the Pats signals, while Walsh was filming the Jets signals. What does that tell you? No year was given but Walsh was with the Pats from  1997-2002. Now, '97-99 was the Peter Carroll era in Foxboro. No one has said that Walsh taped signals for Carroll so I will assume no taping took place in those seasons, but who knows. Belichick came to the Pats in 2000 and started this practice of taping signals. (Though its anyone's guess if this is the first time Belichick started taping. Perhaps all Belichick teams should be looked into. Giants, Browns, Jets. When did he start this? What does Parcells know?) Anyway, in 2000 Al Groh was head coach of the Jets. Was Groh the one taping signals? Unclear, since no year was given, but consider this: Groh was on staff for the Jets when Parcells/Belichick were there, and Parcells was still GM. What does Groh know? Groh left the Jets after 2000 and Herm Edwards came aboard.  My guess is that Herm Edwards was taping signals. According to reports one tape shows Edwards waving to the Patriots videographer. So he knew damn well what the Pats were doing, maybe because he was doing it to. Its anyone's guess, and I am not trying to disparage anyone's character, but if cheating must be investigated by an independent counsel or by the Congress, cast a wide net. This isn't just the Pats. After all Jimmy Johnson admitted doing this as well and he said that he knows other coaches who have employed this practice.

Hey fattyx8

It doesn't stink to hate the Pats, it's very easy to do.  Just ask the majority of football fans. It is especially easy now that it has been proven that they had to cheat to get where they are. There's no way they get to the SB this year.  Hope that crow tastes good fat boy!

Death wish,

"ther es no way they get to the superbowl this year"

Well they are the pre-season favorites, better get those cameras ready....

where has it been proven they cheated? yes they taped from the wrong location on the field, but take that camera and put a roof over it and you can tape till your hearts content, are you referring to the Matt Walsh tapes of the walkthrough..ooopps there wasn't one.....And yes they will be back, the Patriots will have a bigger chip on their shoulder this year than last...by the way name fatty has nothing to do with weight......

fatty

If there's no proof, why would Belichick apologize?  Watch the video for yourself.

This spygate isn't over yet...more charges will come out.  The team's reputation is shot. The players should not have chips on their shoulders, they should hang their heads in shame.

funny, they made it to the big game this year without taping ( ok correction, aside from teh 8 minutes of tape they got, but didnt get to use)

the new trend, Death Wish, is to think before you speak,,, you really ought to try it,, its very liberating..

trust me, all you haters/ya-hoos DO NOT want that to happen,,,   if Specter takes this as far as he wants to , bet you bottom dollar many more teams will be exposed for doing the same thing...

be careful what you wish for....
