Is it really a supprise? Did we need Wefald to say it? Walker wasn't going to stay even if he was going to be a 3rd round pick.  He wants the money he needs the money and NBA minimum sounds pretty good to a guy who not so long ago was pretty much homeless.

Who are you going to put on the court? Just look at Texas this year. I think that State may play better as a TEAM with Walker and Beasley gone. To be honest, good riddance to Walker. I dislike his attitude. 2 games to come to mind during the regular season when he couldn't keep his composure and we suffered as a result. No more technicals. Plenty of these guys got chances to play and with a season under their belt they can only get better after adjusting to the college game. The north teams, ISU,NU,MU,CU they don't scare anybody. Clemente is going to make a big splash. I watched him play at Miami and I know he is gonna kill.

I agree I think Clamente is going to make a huge impact next year.  I think that the biggest strength of the Wildcats next year will be more of a lock down defense. than this year.  Sutton, Anderson,  Samuals, and from what I heard clemente is a good defender.  We should be solid on the defensive end If Buchi can shoot the ball and play a little D we might have a pretty good "TEAM" next year.  It will be interesting to say the least to see how every one improves and how everyone fits in.

Interesting responses...

I have also heard the rumors surrounding Mr. Clemente's speed and, if true, should provide some intriguing matchups. I do think, due to his maturation (Junior) he will take over the Point position from Jake Pullen. He should be moved to starting SG (hes a streaky shooter but he lit up KU. Plus we have no idea how good Awaji is and frew Brown sucks). Then you have Sutton who is too athletic and good on defense to not start (plus there isnt another wing besides Gilbert and he reallly sucks) but he cant score AT ALL. Moving on up to the PF youve got Samuels who no one has really seen but is athletic and better than Kent and then Ron Anderson who I actually like (good size) Thats not a horrible starting five, but it lacks size and any proviing scoring ability. The bench is abysmal. Wildcats should be far better in 09-10.

Personally, I think that Bill Walker's attitude was great for this team. I think he lost his head a couple of times, but for the most part I loved how he played. He played with a swagger that K-State desparately needs to develop. He exudes confidence, and he isn't afraid to show it. I would love for him to stay another year and bring that intensity into Bramlege night in and night out, but the most likely scenario is that he'll stay in the draft.
