If I had a team headed to the big east and they told me I could pick any current Big East coach to coach my team. My pick would be Bob Huggins. He is in the top 3rd on everyones list. Three years from now, I dont think anyone would have him below 3. Most of you will have him 1 or 2. You shall see.

I'd want a coach who cares about education and ethics if you are going to join a new conference. Many ADs would never touch Huggins if they were moving conferences because of his dismal graduation rate and previous drinking problems. He's a good coach, just not one to base a long and stable future on.
Anyone would tell you that from a long term stand point, Pitino, Wright, Boeheim, or even Brey would be better choices.

the only coach I would maybe take before huggins is pitino.....I'm still taking huggins though.....i didnt say huggins was a popular choice right now...i'm saying that after everyone sees how fast he can turn a program around....he will rise fast on everyones list....give him 3 yrs.....you shall see.....

turn around meaning possibly being a national championship contender... I don't think WVUs even gonna be a BE title contender, at least not this year...i'll take UCONN, Pitt, ND, Cuse, and maybe Gtown and Louisville over WVU this year

turn around meaning possibly being a national championship contender...Really? He hasn't recruited anyone above a 4 star, I'l count one because Roscoe Parrish didn't academically qualify, surprise surprise. Considering he couldn't get past the Elite 8 with much more talented Cincy teams in the 90's I doubt we should be crowning him the next savior at WVU. It's a tough school to recruit basketball too, Pitt is too. Not to mention the fact that Joe Alexander is likely gone.
Without Alexander, can WVU even finish within the top 10 in the conference? I think if you match them up with most other teams when they don't have Joe, things are not as bright as before. The Big East is going to be too tough the next couple of years for 3 and 4 stars to cut it, coaching in the CUSA is a bit different than the Big East.
I give him kudos on a great run last year, but it was only a Sweet 16 appearance, something which almost every other Big East coach has already earned. And before you say it was his first year, it's not like the kids on his team don't know how to play Ruoff, Alexander, and Nichols were all on the last Elite 8 team. The true test will to see how Huggins can do coaching against top tier opponents every game, something the CUSA didn't necessarily offer.
Without Alexander the order goes from this to this:
1. Louisville
2. Pitt
3. UCONN
4. WVU
5. Notre Dame
6. Nova
7. Syracuse
8. Marquette
9. Cincinnatti
10. Providence
1. Louis
2. PItt
3. UCONN
4. Notre
5. Nova
6. Syracuse
7. Marquette
8. Cincinnatti/WVU
10. Providence

Nvm, Huggins proves me wrong, gets Ebanks today. Maybe things don't look too bad for them next season.

Um... ouch? I mean, I realize we just lost two transfers and all, but you think the Hoyas will finish 11th or worse in the Big East? (Or am I misunderstanding something here...)
