That call on Holmstrom was just terrible.  It seems like the officials were just waiting for the opportunity to make that ridiculous call and take away a goal from the Wings.  I still think the call won't matter, as the Wings are still way too talented for Dallas.  The Stars just don't have an answer for the Euro twins.  Although the Stars have the officials on their side tonight, it won't matter in the end.

yeah that was absolutely ridiculous. Refs hate homer for some reason. Erikson had two feet in the crease. he didn't have much to do with the shot, but he had a lot more to do with it than holmstrom had on the other goal. Bettman probably told the refs to be retarted so they can have more games and make more money. Maybe philly will get the same treatment tomorrow.

Yeah, some home cooking for sure by the StarsTomas Holmstrom was getting every call against the Stars in game 3 as well.  And Pavel Datsyuk got plowed into Marty Turco in the 3rd on a goal which should have counted.  This just prolongs the inevitable, even without Johan FranzenRed Wings win 4-2 on Saturday.  At least the Wings fans will get to see the Western Conference Trophy Ceremony!

All I can say is Un-believable.  These games are too close to allow the junior varsity referees of O'Hallaran /Sutherland dictate the outcome of this game.  You could tell that Buttman wanted at least 5 games from this series when Detroit got 3 penalties in the first.  But to let those 2 inept morons call "goalie interference" is a disgrace to all the good ref's who do their job without bias.

With Buttmen riding on his high horse, a review of this event is wasted.  But if sanctions could be placed on these two, don't let them ref another Wing game this playoff, I'd be happy.

I just finished watching the game on TiVo...I can't believe what I saw...goalie interference???  Like it was said earlier, if Holmstrom interfered, what was Eriksson doing...camping out???

Also what was up with the refs allowing all of the little cheap shots from the Stars?  I saw numerous little high sticks here and there, and one so obvious when Draper took one in the head before the puck was dropped during a face off.  Also does anyone else think that the officials allowed a ton of cross checks behind the goals?

I hope DMac goes nuts and shows Mr. Ott what it is like to jump someone while they are on the ice and hitting someone...

Lastly...I haven't heard anything about any fine or suspension for Mike Ribeiro's slash on Ozzy?

Neither Ribeiro nor osgood were suspended.  They were both fined an undisclosed amount.

One thing that I've noticed all day today is the complaining about the interference call (and it was a bad call), but what I haven't heard is the ref's being called out for not calling the Playing with the Broken Stick, or some of the other chippy shots that BOTH SIDES were taking.  Nor do I remember seeing the wing fans up in arms when, in Game 1, it clearly was interference.  Strange.

The refs took a brain cramp break in this one. The NHL said earlier, after game 1, that no goal should count if a player is in the blue. Let's see Homlstom wasn't in the crease when Datsyuk scored. Ericcson's goal bounced off him into the net when he was standing in the blue. That's 0 for 2 for the refs not including all the other screw ups. It only delays the inevitable though.

Is there anyone else who absolutely hates the Versus studio analysts? I wonder if they actually watch the games. They are clueless.

Refereeing in the NHL, at best is mediocre.  Watch any game and the team thats behind in the third will get 2-3 powerplays while the winning team sneezes on the ice and gets interference.  I especially don't like the way the 2 tootie fruitie linesman would  always grab the Detroit player during scrums. Only to leave the Dallas player the ability to continue to aggress the situation.  Let's call an EVEN game ref's and I can live with the fact that if we lose, so be it.

Why would we be up in arms about a goal that really didn't matter in a game that Dallas got blown out?  This goal was much bigger, away, first goal.  They're not equal by any means.  Just because you miss a call here, doesn't mean you change a game and manufacture a call there.

On the record, I didn't think Holmstrom's first goal shouldn't have counted, and I still have no idea why it wasn't called back.  But why would I complain about that?  I don't think any rational person can say that those calls were both horrible.  I just don't see how refs can make amends by making more horrible calls.
