I loved how the Preds made all the experts take a double take during the series because of our D, but then again just making the playoffs stunned the experts because everyone that we were going to be in cellar of the Central. I think we need some 1 or 2 other scorers and better luck with injuries, because if I remember correctly one of our best offensive players got injuried during the series that bit us in Game 5 and ultimately the series.
We really need another scorer or two because we barely beat the Canucks for the 8th spot and with the 'Hawks having a young team that battled for the playoffs late in the season they're going to be a threat next year as well.
Now that the Preds have a stable ownership situation and no threat of relocation, the fans in Nashville and hopefully other Tennesseans will embrace the team with the right PR campaign. I live near Chattanooga and if the Preds take a page from the Titans by having a team bus trip around the state, sending star players & coaches to here, Knoxville, Memphis, etc to promote the team they could increase the fan base. I know a lot of hockey fans here, unfortunately they're transplanted Red Wings fans (because of about half a dozen colleges/universities in the area) and they outnumber Preds fans. Hockey will never equal football or college basketball in Tennessee, but I think the Preds can a strong following in the state.
(For the record I've lived in Chattanooga since birth, I became a real hockey fan in 1992 & 1993 following the Penguins & Mario and the Kings in the 1993 playoffs. I permenantly became a hockey fan after watching the 1994 Stanley Cup finals on ESPN when I was 12 and came to the conclusion that the Stanley Cup has the best playoffs.)
