Nelson, Evans are good. But they aren't starting lineup players. I dont mind having Nelson in our starting lineup but if we had the oppourtunity to get a better pg we have to take it.
Howard-Gortat/Foyle
Battie
Lewis
Turkoglu-Evans
Nelson
Getting another backup or starter (have Battie on the bench) PF would be great. My dream is to get Kevin Love but that isn't very feasible.
I think managing to trade down a bit and grab a Nathan Jawai type would be a good bench PF to have.
There is also Robin Lopez, Roy Hibbert, Kosta Koufos to look at for a tandem with Howard.
Getting a better starter PG would be good too.
For me, DJ Agustin is too small...Russell Westbrook, Mario Chalmers would be someone I would welcome.
There are also a couple of bit players in the 2nd round that could be nice bench players.....for example Joe Ingles, SF, out of Australia, projected to go early-mid second round would be a better back-up for Rashard.
There are so many options....what should the Magic do come draft time? Trade up or down or trade players for picks or trade future picks...who to draft, at what position....PF, PG?

- I disagree about Jameer. That guy can play basketball and turned it up in the play-offs becoming really th only guy that you knew was going to have a big game
- I don't think we have a second round pick.
- I'd like Maressee Speights or Robin Lopez. Love doesn't have the muscle to play in the NBA in my opinion. He seems a lot like Rasheed without the strength and less of a shot.

With the talent the Magic have locked up for the next few years; Howard, Lewis, Nelson all for 5 years and Turk for 2....I could see the Magic trading role players and/or future picks to move up in the draft if they have their eye on some one in particular.
Barring any major deals (which I don't see happening) I agree exactly with your line up! It's highly unlikely that a #22 pick could come in and crack the starting lineup.
Positives for next year:
1. The return of Battie
2. Rashard gets to play more at SF
3. Hedo could be a huge matchup problem at SG and can also play some SF
4. The whole team gained valuable playoff experience
5. Howard and Nelson are both still improving and should be even better next year.
6. Gortat, not sure why Stan sat him all year till the playoffs but he could provide valuable minutes at C/PF.
Because I think Gortat will show much improvement and can play at C and PF I think the Magic should try and get a taller defensive minded guard that can that can get backup minutes at the 1 and 2 spots.
And one more thing....whoever the Magic get they MUST BE ABLE TO SHOOT FREE THROWS!!!!!!

Since we're getting close to the draft I think our biggest position of need is a shooting guard or power forward. I would like to see the Magic draft Chris Douglas-Roberts from Memphis at pick #22 and see if we can bring over Vasquez to add depth to our frontline along with a healthy Battie. I believe drafting a shooting guard is crucial because we have so many free agents at that position and unless we can't pick up someone like Maggette or Pietrus that would be the way to go. I would like to see this lineup:
PG. Nelson-Dooling
SG. Turkoglu-CDR
SF. Lewis-Bogans
PF. Battie-Cook-Vasquez
C. Howard-Free Agent-Gortat

I think our biggest position of need is a shooting guardIs it really? If Hedo slides over there and the Magic return Bogans and Evans, I don't see that as a position of need.
or power forwardI agree a little more. I think Howard, Battie and Gortat make a nice rotation. However, who knows how good Gortat can be and Battie isn't exactly a spring chicken and is coming off an injury. I think Fran is a punk and will not help the team at all. He hasn't done squat in Europe! He won't do squat in the NBA. A wasted pick. He won't help. He'll do about as much as Augustine did.
I believe drafting a shooting guard is crucial because we have so many free agents at that position and unless we can't pick up someone like Maggette or Pietrus that would be the way to go.I have to disagree I think Turk will do very well at SG. I hope Evans and Bogans stay.
I guess I'd like Orlando to get some support up front or a defensive minded backup for Jameer.
Not sure if it would work but what the heck!!! Package JJ, Fran, this years #1, and next years #1 for a lottery pick. There are so many players coming out the Magic could land a great player.
Howard, Battie, Rashard, Turk, Nelson, and a lottery pick? If they make the right pick that could be a very strong starting five with a great 6th man. Then you only need about 2 good role players for a strong 8 man rotation.
Just a thought.

After watching Paul Pierce propel us into the ECF......you guys are right, he is hardly the player Lewis is. I mean, Lewis is taller and younger, so he is better!!
HAHAHAHA!!
Way to show up in the Pistons series. At least Billups got hurt so you didn't get swept.

in multiple mock drafts I have seen Chris douglas roberts and brando rush would be there CDR is a great scorer, and could start at SG. Also Brandon Rush is an excelant defender and a good scores and they are both big guards which the Magic need.
