Excerpt from OTA LEFTOVERS : by Jerry McDonald

Offensive tackle Mario Henderson worked with the second team on the right side, and will get extensive work to see if he is up to the task of challenging Cornell Green at right tackle. No one will say it out loud, but the Raiders would like to see Henderson seize the job from Green, a cagey veteran who most any team would love to have as a reserve.

I hope either of these guys are good enough to hold down RT. This may end up being the make or break spot of a great OL. Also in the article they had Morris working in front of Wade but said don't make anything of it.

It seems OL is pretty weak in depth outside of C which shows Wade Grove and Morris. R&LG both have good starters in Gallery and Carlisle but past here there isn't much maybe Grove and McQuistan, but that would be moving guys around again. Then there are 3 major question marks at both T positions 1st will Harris pull it off , 2cnd who is at RT, 3rd who past McQuistan ( not saying much) will backup these 2 spots if they fail or injure? As good as Cable is, I think our starting OL will measure up and maybe have 2 good backups, but if we don't get any depth we may end up in trouble in 2 ways. 1st if we have backups come in the run game will lag for a moment ( IMO we will recover quickly, possibly in 1 games time),2cnd and more importantly we don't know how the pass game is going to pan out with the starters much less with undesirable depth possibly having to come in.  I wouldn't be so concerned about this if we didn't still have to sign DMC. Where is the money going to come from, and will there be any left to get some decent backups for the OL? I hope Cable can work magic with all of our backups, and I hope he has enough time to concentrate on them with the new faces he is alredy going to have to put time in with. Cali out.

I think this is a bunch of BS. Cornell should start no doubt about it. Mario could learn from a veteran and in five years, ya i understand.

Teams would love to have Cornell Green as a back up? Really? I don't want him as our back up water boy. Green is another in the long line of suck tackles we've had for quite a while now. The tackle position gives Al fits when it comes to finding one and I can really only name one in recent memory he's found and that would be Barry Sims. I know Barry sucked hardcore the past few years but there was a time when he played very well.

I have no clue about Henderson and neither does anyone else for that matter. Henderson didn't play much in college and maybe that's because as a prospect he's been described as "Looking like Tarzan, plays like Jane"....This is a guy who was taken in the third round but failed to be listed in either of the draft mags I had and the only info I could find online was a measly 3 sentences. This bother me even more because what was Quentin Moses? A 3rd round pick and where is Quentin Moses? I haven't seen Henderson play like some junk yet so I'll reserve my judgement but hopefully he'll kick Green to the bench because the guy sucks.

M. Henderson should be the starting left tackle because he is a pass blocker. K. Harris the run blocker should be the starting right tackle. C. Green is a career backup nothing more.

Really? When was it that you bacame more knowledgable than Tom "The Wizard" Cable? Last I heard he was the offensive line coach who made magic with the leagues worst offensive line. Then he proceeded to sit down and watch film with Kwame Harris, immediately after Kwame Harris was quoted as saying, "After watching that and hearing what coach Cable had to say I feel like I have been playing out of position my whole career!"

With Robert Gallery and Kwame Harris on the left side we could see the same type of running game that the Seahawks had with Steve Hutchinson and Walter Jones did in 2005. Add that to the solid play of Cooper Carlisle at RG and the only position that needs to be decided is the RT. So before you go attacking a player make sure you do some research.

oooooookayyyy,

Maybe you should settle down a bit. Robert Gallery and Kwame Harris just arent Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson. No coach can make them that. Both of these guys have disapointed for a long time now. (Gallery has been alright since move to LG.) They will be okay on running plays but  neither of these guys can hold down a good pass rusher. WE NEED A L. TACKLE
