I think Jarvis could build a winner a FAU. He has had success at GW and St johns before it became a clown show. I don't know if the Red Storm will ever recover. With his resume and ability Jarvis should be able to recruit. but the stigma from the johnies still lingers......

I think Jarvis will definitely be able to build a winning program at Florida Atlantic University.  He has that prior coaching experience like coaching a team far into the tournament which is a definite plus.  Jarvis will also be able to recruit a lot better he has coached at some big school programs and he has done some special things in his coaching career, he could definitely be able to turn the program around.

FAU needs a young hungry coach who can build a team over a few years, not a has been....with a outrageous temper like Jarvis......enough with the re-treads!

I'd like to see Mike Jarvis get the job. I liked him at GWU and at St. John's and feel he is a solid coach and that he deserves another opportunity. This would be a good fit for him and the school. FAU is a good school - the football team won a bowl game last year - and Boca Raton is a great spot. I wish Rex Walters the best at San Francisco, that was a good step for him. I am still questioning whether or not going to SMU was the right move for former FAU coach, Matt Doherty.

Hey Owls fans, any opinions on Jarvis, Walters, or Doherty ?

I think this is one of those real coin flip situations, but my bet would be on Jarvis doing a very respectable job at FAU.  His best successes came at the mid-major level, and I think that the St. John's fiasco could have been a real misleading gauge as to the kind of coach that Jarvis really is.  I think his past successes, his relatively big name, and the attraction of the geographic area of FAU might be a really good combination for the school.
