I disliked the Girardi hiring from the beginning and it put me over the edge when he missed two games very early into his new gig because he was "sick." DEAR JOE, YOU SIT ON A BENCH AND DO NOTHING. Is it really that difficult to sit there on a bench on make some moves here and there during the game??

The Yanks are 4 games under .500 now and this is getting frustrating. Girardi gets canned immediately if they miss the playoffs.

I don't think that would be a wise move.  There are a lot of problems that are occuring that are not Girardi's fault.  Besides the injuries and inconsistent pitching, especially from Hughes and IPK, this is an old team.  It appears they have aged even more during the off season.  With the exception of Cano and Cabrera, we don't have everyday player that wasn't alive after the dinosaurs roamed the Earth.  We all should have known that this was coming.  And, if you think this year is bad, wait until next year when the roster turns over.

That said, it is still a very talented team and A-Rod comes back tomorrow.  It's never as bad as it seems.

The two guys who should be fired are Yankee President Randy Levine. He's the weasel who had a personality conflict with Joe Torre. There's a rumor that Joe Torre snubbed him and his wife one night. Anyway, that jack ass was talking about Joe Torre not winning any Championships over the past 6 years, YET RANDY LEVINE HASN'T WON ANY! Joe Torre had two Pennants in those same six years and made the playoffs every year he was here.

Furthermore, don't forget that Joe Torre lost Gary Sheffield AND Hideki Matsui in 2006, the same year that A-Rod struggled big time and was nearly run out of town. Torre got it done with guys like Melkey Cabrera and Andy Phillips.
Last season Joe Torre had worse pitching in April, May then Giardi has now. Wang was lost to a hamstring injury courtesy of Brian Cashman's HAND PICKED new trainer. Everyone was dropping like flies, until finally Cashman admitted the mistake and fired the guy he just hired! Torre was forced to use Tyler Clippard, Chase Wright and Daryl Rasner.  All Torre did was pull off the best record in baseball from May 29th on.

Brian Cashman is the other dud who needs to go. The Media gives him credit for the 98 through 2000 Championships. It's such a joke. Steinbrenner brought in Clemens, and they had to give up our hottest pitcher (Wells) to get him. What did Cashman do? He rode the coat tails of Gene Michaels who built the Yankee core while Steinbrenner was banned for Howie Spiro. Look at Brian Cashman's signings during the drought? The only two that worked out were salary dumps that no other GM could pull off because of money constraints (A-Rod and Abreu). Every other decision was a flop, but most notably, almost nine years of not replacing the bridge to Mariano in the bullpen. And also the Carl Pavano, Jaret Wright and Kei Igawa signings. Oh God those are just awful. And last year giving Roger Clemens $28 million for four months. Cashman does LESS with more than any other GM in baseball. He's so overrated it isn't even funny.

Joe Giardi has been terrible thus far. I still can't get over pitching to Manny with the open base. And Torre broke in Chamberlin, Hughes and Kennedy just fine. Now Hughes and Kennedy stink. Doesn't the Giardi coaching staff have questions to answer on why Hughes and Kennedy are regressing under them? In fairness though, you've got to give him a full year at least.

When irks me the most is that Randy Levine wanted Joe Torre fired, and he got his wish. So why doesn't he pay the ultimate price? They expected Joe Torre to accept a contract, where he would have had to win the Al Pennant with the same team, or be fired. Yet somehow, it's okay for Joe Giardi to not make the playoffs with this same team.

Why does he need time? If this is a Jimmy Johnson/Barry Switzer situation, then why should Giardi be expected to do better. Isn't that why they forced Torre out with a clever ruse.

I meant to say; "why shouldn't Joe Giardi be expected to do better?"

I don't think it is Girardi who should get canned. I really think that is the conditioning coach/training staff that needs to go. I don't remember the Yanks ever having so many injuries. Get a good training staff in there and the Yanks my pull it off.

Resigning ARod, Posada, and Rivera were horrible moves - they all had the motive to resign for MONEY and knew the Yankee brass would give them the money they demanded. The team is built on players whose prime has passed, but salaries have ballooned beyond their talent level. Igawa's deal will go down as the worst in MLB history. The Yankees should have gone after clutch hitter Joe Crede to play 3B.

Girardi is not the problem, the ego's and stupidity of the Yankee Brass is - unfortunately you can't fire the owner.

It looks like a long harsh cold future for Yankee fans everywhere.

NEPK, that was the dumbest post I have ever read.

Don't resign A-Rod?? One of the best players of all time and a two time MVP since he came to New York. The money they will make off of Alex when he breaks Bonds record is going to be astronomical. They are a billion dollar franchise, money is never an issue with the Yankees. With the new stadium and the All start game both coming to town the money will continue to pile up.

Dont resign Mariano?? One of the best closers of all time and still has plenty of juice in the tank. He's given up only 1 earned run thus far and still has the 94 MPH velocity. He had and has no immediate signs of slowing down.

Posada is a little frustrating. The Yanks didn;t know Posada had a bad shoulder ?? What are physcials for? To resign a 36 year old catcher coming off a career year was a little odd. He will probably play 1st for the remainder of his contract.

Don't resign A-Rod??

One of the best but also one of the most unclutch players in the game.

Dont resign Mariano??  Although he is one of the best closers in the game, they should have plans for somebody to replace him within the next couple of years.
