Official Penguins vs. Red Wings Thread

Sabres fan here.  I am pulling for the Penguins to claim victory.

Please, don't let Hasek hoist another cup.

That's one difference you will see in this series, since the Red Wings are a team that puts everything on the net and then goes hard, looking for rebounds and second chances. I think both sets of D are going to be on their heels with the amount of skill and speed all the forwards have.

On a completely unrelated note, who do the refs favor in this series? I mean, all Wings fans heard through the playoffs is that the refs want the Wings in the finals against the Penguins. I assume Penguin fans heard the same. Now that they're both there, who gets the favorable calls? I will start with the "Pittsburgh is getting the calls because they want Sidney Crosby to win." Get the excuses out there now.

Trust me Chargers&Wings--Pittsburgh/Sidney Crosby getting all the calls has been pretty popular.  Check out the 2500+ posts on the Pens/Flyers threads, it was mentioned more than a few times.  Even a few conspiracy theories about the NHL. 

I don't think the refs will favor either side.  Like I said a couple of days ago, its not a coincidence that the team that dictates play, and keeps the other side pinned in their own end gets more calls.  The Flyers did that to the Pens in game 4 (especially the 1st period) and got plenty of power plays.  The rest of the series, the Pens controlled play. 

His weakness will be Crosby, Hossa, Malkin, Malone, Sykora, Stall, Malone, Talbot, Dupuis, Ruutu, Hall, Roberts, Gonchar, Whitney, Letang, and Laraque.

That's all he has to worry about.....he should be fine.

I can equally say that Fleury's weaknesses will be Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg, Tomas Holmstrom, Johan Franzen, Valterri Fillpulla, Dallas Drake
