It's one of the Holy Grails of going to the ballpark...the no-hitter. How many of you posters have been lucky enought to witness one in person?
I was at the game in Oakland last season where Schilling lost it with two outs in the ninth...f'n Shannon Stewart. I thought that was my time to see one.
Mine was that game in Oakland last season. Just on a trip to watch some Bay Area baseball and it was SSOOOO CLOSE. And I hate Schilling, but I was rooting like a mutha to see him get it...so I could see one.
He shook off Tek and the rest is history...Tek knows best...as we have seen.
The 1st time I remember going to Wrigley Field (not the 1st time my mother took me) was at the Don Cardwell no hitter. I also think that it was the 2nd game of a double hitter . Being only 7 at the time some of the memories are vague
I've seen one...and I was lucky because I was the one who threw it haha...I walked 3 guys when I was in junior league (so I was 14 if I remember right)...probably the greatest moment of my playing days...hitting home runs never got old though haha...nothing beats a no-no though...I can't imagine the feeling of a perfect game
I was at the Big A on 9/28/74 for Nolan Ryan's 3rd no-no. I had to look up the exact date ( I was 10, give me a break ), but I remember it well. Like so many Angel games I went to back then, me and my dad bought upper level tix, and by about the 5th or 6th, we were sitting right behind home plate.
I will never forget the sound that the catchers mitt made after every Ryan fastball. His pitches even SOUNDED different.
