Also, I am not a math wizard but the 9 and 11 games that Stroud translated out to playing over half of the games which makes your quote of  Stroud "missed most of 06 and 07" look a bit idiotic and homeristic.  Also, would not Stroud starting all of those games keep Meier fresh for the stretch run.  We have yet to see if Meier can play as a starter the whole 16 games season if he gets the nod again.

Bump it, I guess Im a idiot and a homer. We will miss Stroud and the defense will crumble to pieces without him. And the back up guys are just that,"back up guys" and they are not capable of stepping in and performing. I guess that defeat the purpose for rotating guys and having a deep roster.

Is that what you want to hear? Once again, the defense will miss Marcus Stroud.  The idiot and the homer "jagmania" said it.

For the record, Sammy Knight was brought into the team one week before the regular season for depth.  Before minicamp, the Jags had Donovan Darius and Gerald Sensabaugh at the SS spot.  They initially drafted a rookie who (forgot his name rookie from Wake Forest) was to back up Sensabaugh who was to replace Darius.  So the Jags cut Darius before training camp.  The bad thing is the rookie was a bust and they cut him in the preseason.  Needing backup the Jags signed Sammy Knight.  He was a one year gap and was often targeted by opposing teams TE's and LOST most battles.  For the Jags to in the top 15 in pass defesne is amazing.

Now, the Jags have moved Brian Williams to SS and Gerald Sensabaugh is the backup.  Now coverage from our SS spot should be above average.

We'll see.

...as far as M. Stroud.  For years, he was the best defensive player on the Jags team.  That injury he suffered caused him to miss significant time.  I didn't want to see him go, but it was clear that the team was ready to move on without him (from what I hear, he watned to revise his contract).

He had surgery on that ankle and rushed back to play the following season and was suspened because he took supplements to help heal his injury.  Once he got back on the field, he blew it out again and was place on IR.

Can the Jaguars survive without Stroud, absolutely.  Truth be told because of Stroud inability to get a push off the snap of the ball, Rob Meier out performed him.  That's fact, not homer.

Coach Del Rio even suggested that he doesn't think Stroud will ever get back to pro-bowl form, that's just an opinion.

Bottom line, the Jags needed to go in a different direction and Rob Meier (the only DT on the Jags who can play both DE spots) is very capable of doing a good job for the Jags.(No, I'm not even trying to compare the two)

I see the weakness is that they didn't have a good pass rush game at the end of the season. That is ture. That will be our biggest weakness until dewight is 100 percent...

No, you no better than that Jagmania.  I understand what you are saying dude and a lot of it makes sense.  My point was is that no loss was a bit of an extreme black and white statement.  I am sure the Jags like the Colts trust in their scouting system and have potential replacements in mind who as I said might well work out and some have already proven to be decent performers but not yet over a whole 16 game season.

The Colts had the same thing happen to them so I know it is possible but nothing is for certain.  I know this as well.  As I have already said the Jags are the Colts main competition for the AFC South.  I should be an interesting year.

Also, your sarcasm is appreciated.  Can I refer to you as idiot and homer now instead of Jagmania?
