The Chiefs really should have kept Solari, just not as offensive coordinator. When he was their offensive line coach they had one of the best lines in the league. Instead of firing him they should have moved him back to offensive line coach. The problem was, with the Chiefs fans calling for the heads of Carl Peterson, Herm Edwards, and Mike Solari there was no way they could have kept all three on staff. So, Solari was the one that took the hit, when really he was the only one that the Chiefs should have kept, just not at offensive coordinator.

Although there is some validity to your point, I also would take into consideration the "saving face" factor for Mike Solari. IF he is successfull for the Seahawks, he has the opportunity to continue his coaching carreer on his terms, IMO.
I for one was against removing Solari from the organization, but they never called to get my opinion either.

I didn't think Solari needed to stay with the Chiefs, main reason when designing a new offense you want the Offensive Coord. to have his people running the show i.e. coaching the position players. We shouldv'e got rid of Dick Curl too.

As a Hawks fan, I hope you're right. My question is, can he play Right Guard?

Oh, YES! Finally someone who recognized the real problem. It wasn't Solari at all. It was totally Dick Curl.
People held up the stupid "Run Run Pass Punt" signs, but that was not the MO at all. The team passed on first down more often than not. The stats prove that the team passed for a higher percentage of plays than most in the NFL.
Solari is a respected OL coach. That said, we all know that you can't demote a guy within the organization. Yeah, he tops out as an Asst Coach, but if you put him back down, you have to cut his salary and probably deal with a disgruntled guy in a key leadership position.
But don't worry...we are likely to go 5-11 this year, too. Then there will be plenty more changes.

Peterson is the one we really want out. I bet Herm is a good coach if he had the players, but clearly we don't have the players right now. Meanwhile, Solari was the obvious choice, but it should have been Dick Curl taking the fall.
Our line is gonna be terrible again this year. Even if Albert is a good rookie, how many rookies have ever really been good at LT? And even if he turns out to be Jonathan Ogden (unlikely at best), we still have a huge problem at RT! Sacks come from there, too.
One thing I noticed while painfully watching a whole bunch of unwatchable games last year is that Waters is truly a mauler on running plays. I mean he seriously steamrolls on running plays. HOWEVER, he misses guys who stunt and spin on passing plays. Part of it is probably that he felt he had to try to play two positions at once, but an objective observer would still notice that some sacks did come right up the middle last year.

Joe Bugel anyone?
Lousy head coach, brilliant asst. Always had a job, always got respect from playeres, every organization paid him the highest salary to be an OL coach, but then the Peter Prinicple took affect.
I doubt Solari is in that class, but I bet Seattle will be glad to have him.
