First I must say, great game by Hamels. Bailey pitched goo, but the Reds defense let him down.

Thanks to all the Phillies fans that gave Griffey the standing O in the 9th, when he flew out to the track. That was a real class act. Griffey is the only megastar that I can think of that has never been tied to steroids. I think that all the MLB fans really appreciate that fact.

Go Reds!

Phillie fans were booing the hell out of Myers yesterday when he walked him.  I thought it was really funny personally.

Griffey's a class act and we Philly fans respect that unlike Bonds who we're just brutal against.  I remember many a Business Person's Special against the Giants sitting on the third base side.  Even I was appauld at some of the things that were said, though they were funny as hell.

Griffey is the only megastar that I can think of that has never been tied to steroids.

I can think of a bunch, but if you are talking about players from that era, then yes he is one of few.

I think if he had hit it out, people would have cheered pretty loud. It would have broken up Hamels' shut out, but it would have been a chance to see history from one of the more likable guys in baseball. I hope he gets it soon.

Go Fightins! Keep up the heat!

I agree that both starters pitched well, but come on if you are going to down grade the Reds sorry defense today then you have to downgrade there lack of ability to score runs! The Reds have got to get there starters more run support! I believe it helps a pitcher mentaly to know that they have the lead! It is probably easier to break down when you get into the fifth and sixth innings with no run support!

Go Redlegs

Griffey is hard to hate (even for philly fans) Glad to see (or at least follow online, damn work) Cole back to dominating ways.

It's a damn shame Griffey spent so much time  on the DL the last several years.  If he was healthy we'd be talking about 700 HRs.

JrBuckeye,

Yes, we Philly fans are a tough, rabid bunch but we're also knowledgeable in our sports and always respect a hard-nosed effort.  Griffey Jr. appears to have played the game the right way and has been a great ambassador for the sport and I don't think we have a problem recognizing that even if he's wearing the opposing uniform.  Jr's headed my way (Miami) now so maybe I'll be able to enjoy watching him hit his 600th here.

Go Fightins!
