Okay, I just wanted to speak about something that is just pissing me off and it has a lot to do with Michael Young.

If you look at the All Star Votes you will see that it looks like this for shortstops.

1. Jeter 832,561 votes

2. Doesn't matter

3. Michael Young 266,494 votes

Jeter has 566, 067 more points then Young and his production really hasn't been there this season.  Young is batting a .309 average, with 6 homers, and 32 RBI's and Jeter is batting .279, 3 homers, and 27 RBI's but he leads the ways in votes. Now don't get me wrong because I am an Angel fan, but Young has earned the All Star start in my mind. It just sucks to know that people base there votes on someones name and what they have done in the past compaired to what they are doing now.

Anywho,

If you are a fan of the Rangers, Angels, or another team outside of the Yankees you should vote Young to be the All Star starter for the shortstop position and stop these large market players who make it because of the fan base in there area.

If you goes as far as looking at your fantasy stats you will see that Young is ranked 3rd to Jeters 13th place. The only players beating Young are Hanley and Reyes and they play for the N.L., so make the difference and vote for Young.

Just wanted to show the Ranger fans that I was showing there players some love. Good luck this season.

As everyone should know it is time to vote for this years 2008 MLB all stars, so I thought I would put my A.L. picks in a thread for everyone to view and hopefully to start a couple good posts while at it.

My picks are base on the players I thought earned the honors and not just because they play for my favorite team (Angels).

1st base- Casey Kotchman- Angels - I think this kid has earned it.

2nd base- Ian Kinsler- Rangers- Utley and Uggla play for the N.L. and in my eyes there hasn't been anyone else that can keep up with Kinsler outside of those two players. I personally would have looked to see what Kendrick could have done.

3rd base- Alex Rodriguez- Yankees- What can I say??? I always wanted him to be an Angel.

SS- Michael Young- Rangers- Derek Jeter will get another honor at the all star game base on poor numbers, but a good past and big fan base. Young has a better average, more homers, more RBI's, and a 22 game hitting streak. Again, the two SS that have out played Young play for the N.L. Just stating some facts

Catcher- Joe Mauer- Twins- I believe he has earned this honor. Would have gone with Napoli, but he has a low average and splits too much time with Mathis. Just trying to be fair

OF- Vladimir Guerrero- Angels- What can I say?? I couldn't call myself an Angels fan if I didn't pick big Vlad.

OF- Torii Hunter- Angels- I love the addition of Hunter to the Angels and he is a big reason why they are in first place.

OF- Josh Hamilton -Rangers- I love what he has over come in his life and he has earned this honor by dropping bombs on the teams he plays against.

DH- David Ortiz- Red Soxs- No one has stood out, so I gave it to Ortiz.

Now that I look back at it didn't give me an option on pitchers, so that is the reason why they didn't get listed.

I based my votes on how I thought the players have done so far this season and not just because they play for my favorite team.

Who did you vote for????

Great Post Angles22.  Being a Rangers fan from Connecticut, I see a lot of of "fans" who don't really know what they are saying.  I saw the All Star vote leaders and I believe that the Yankees and Red Sox have 7 of the 9 spots right now which is just ridiculous.  Young is a better SS than Jeter and I've been saying this the past couple of years now.  Kinsler is by far the best 2nd baseman in the AL but somehow a man hitting around .280 with 1 homer though is an excellent defensive player somehow is well ahead of him.  At least Manny deserves a bid this year unlike last year.  This is why I have hated the All Star game in recent years because there are stupid fans who vote for their team guys over guys who really deserve to be there.  This should be the starting roster for the All Star game.

C. Dioner Navarro, TB - shocking but look at the stats and you can't disagree

1B. Kevin Youkillis, BOS - even though he's on a big market team, he slightly deserves the nod more than Justin Morneau

2B. Ian Kinsler, TEX - no doubt about this one, no other choice really

SS. Michael Young, TEX - again, no other choice really

3B. Alex Rodriguez, NYY - another big market guy and even though he's missed a few games this season he's done better than Joe Crede who also deserves an all star nod

OF. Josh Hamilton, TEX - probably the best hitter in the AL so far this year so a no brainer there

OF. Manny Ramirez, BOS - It's hard to argue against voting in Manny, especially after how well he's been doing without Big Papi in the lineup

OF. Milton Bradley, TEX - There are so many outfielders who deserve an all star nod this year and though i don't want to see 4 texas rangers starting because they are only a .500 team, Milton Bradley does lead the AL in .BA, OBP, SLG and OPS so he should get a starting nod since he may be even better than Hamilton I think anyway, he's a much more patient hitter than Hamilton and creates more scoring opportunities than Hamilton does

I hate to sound like i'm being a homer for my Texas Rangers but I'm really only looking at the stats and the stats don't lie.  The starting pitcher should be either Cliff Lee, CLE Roy Halladay, TOR or Ervin Santana, LAA

Again, Great Post Angels 22 and how about telling them Angels to lose some games so the Rangers can get back into the playoffs.

Hey Angel fan your DH is Milton Bradley. Nobody has stood out what about the season he is putting up. He leads in all the other stats Hamilton doesn't lead in.
