Well the game isn't over yet, but Mitchell Boggs gave us 5 good innings only giving up 2 runs.  He did show some command issues walking three, although I would argue probably nerves in the first walking two.  He has at least qualified for the win and will hopefully be a good start for his career.

Good start for Mitchell Bogg for sure. That really helped getting him a 4 run cushion to work with. Moggs pitched 5.0 solid innings, gave up only 2 earned runs on 4 hits, waked 3 and struck out none. The 2 ER's came via the long ball. His ERA is now 3.86. I appreciate TLR not pushing Boggs too far too soon.

All in all, a very good first major league start for Boggs.

Yeah thats one thing I love about La Russa, he did a great thing in pulling Boggs out once he qualified for the W, with the lead and coming off of the day off with a fresh bullpen he doesn't allow Boggs to get himself into any trouble and leaves him with a lot of confidence for the next go around.  I would ask for anyof you who watched the game, was Boggs getting squeezed in the first inning or was he missing the strike zone?  I was at work and only following it on MLB Gameday, and it looked to me like he wasn't getting calls.  What did you think?

it was a solid start for boggs.  we might need him the rest of the season if we have to many injures to the team.  I think it is amazing that the Cardinals are still in it with all of the injures we have had this year.  How many teams could overcome the injures the cardinals have had this year.  Hopefully we can start to get people back for injures and not keeping putting people on there.

I agree, it was a nice NL starting debut for Mitchell Boggs.  Hopefully, he can follow it up with a solid performance against that tough Phillies lineup on Sunday.  I'll be attending that game and am anxious to see how young Boggs performs.

Akbled, I was listening to the game on the radio, which I normally do (I don't have cable, as I got fed up with Charter years ago), and Mike Shannon seemed to think that Boggs was getting squeezed a bit.  Boggs said after the game on the Star of the Game Show with John Rooney that he definitely had butterflies but that once he was able to clear the first inning with no damage, he calmed down and felt much more at ease.

All in all, the young man did a fine job.

I thought he was getting squeezed.  I can't vouch for how accurate the Gameday is, but he had a lot of pitches in that first inning that seemed like they were borderline and could have easily been called.  Once he started getting the Reds hitters swinging instead of watching he seemed to really get comfortable.
