Its scary times we live in, when you have someone like "the product" downplaying the actions of a drunk driver fleeing from the police.

The_product I do have to agree with your thoughts and intentions with your comments.  However, I think you are not allowing an open mind about the whole picture.  Yes the whole Enron thing was bad, yes 21,000 lost their jobs, and yes he is in prison which is great.  Michael Vick brutally allowed the torture of defenseless animals, and lied to the Feds, both counts are grounds for going to prison.  His mom is at fault, and his coaches, and teachers and everyone else who is responsible for the upbringing of a man.  Leave the black vs. white out of this guys.  I can run of a crap load of really messed up white boys who are in prison.  Make no mistakes though product it is a parents DUTY to their child to raise them at any age, parenting does not stop because you grow up.  There is a time and place at which point yes Vick made his own bed and he has to sleep in it.  He is no angel, and how he got to the idea that you can brake the law and get away with it, at some point in his life runs in with the idea he never got disciplined for his actions, and I bet you football has to do with it.  As a younger brother I was told to never repeat the mistakes my brother made, or I would pay.  That was my mother being a parent, but it was my choice not to repeat those mistakes.  Not EVERY family has bad apples, that is an ignorant excuse that every family is messed up.  No family is prefect, but not every family has Satan waiting in its midst.  Also, my god pity and forgive those of you who can sit there and say we should stick the Vicks in a house and start them on fire.  You are the reason intollerance, bigotry, and hatred still live, where peace, love and forgivness should be

Thank You Mrs. Vick

Good post Ditka...

I think my mind me a actually be a little bit TOO OPEN.

No matter how many times I say, "I'm not defending the Vick's actions", people still don't get it...

I value human life and humans' well-being over that of an animals....

At the end of the day, dogs are animals.... domesticated or not, why should a dog have more rights than a chicken, horse, pig, or any other form of "livestock"...

AGAIN, I REPEAT, I AM NOT SAYING WHAT HE DID WAS OK... JUST BEING REALISTIC

Stop being animal lovers for one second and think about.... hard, i know because your emotions cloud your judgement...

I'm sure alot of you cry when the Sarah McGlocklin animal abuse commercial comes on....

An animal heiarchy is funny to me --- again, these are my opinions, take it or leave it....

Let's really look at this.....

People treat the Vick brother's like they're serial killers.

Mike Vick has been accused of smoking weed and animal cruelty....

They're criminals, yes, but when you look at the big picture... they're PETTY CRIMINALS...

People in this thread want to tar, feather, and stone them to death....

Are these same people this active in trying to keep murderers and rapists off the streets?

Probably not.... but since it's an athlete, someone in the spotlight, things get blown way out of proportion....

A grown man is responsible for his actions, not his mother....

Church pastors, teachers, motivational speakers, humanitarians all have kids that have been in trouble and seem to be a lost cause....

It's life... as parents, we can only do so much....

ok Redline...

I'm not from Canada, and if you "didn't have time to waste", why would you log in, come back to this thread to track its progress, and post a reply.... ?

A typical, default reply when the well runs dry...

You're glass.

why are you complaining about enron. that happend 8 years ago, and the CEO is dead and the other is jailed.

marcus vick is a criminal. he is not a petty criminal. he is a legitimate threat to the well being of society. he is consistantly drunk/intoxicated driving and he is eventually going to hurt someone. the fact that not only him, but his brother is a criminal for killing animals who are tortured and pinned against eachother. he abuses animals. its inhuman to not feel wrong in that situation. i feel bad for smacking my dog lightly with a newspaper  when he shits on the floor. so how he can kill an animal is beyond me.

why you are trying to toss this aside is beyond me. maybe if you stopped being so ignorant and actually saw that enron was already punished, you'd understand that this is a bigger issue.

Rock..

"understand that this is a bigger issue"

Who deserves more public criticism and hatred...

"Mr. ENRON" or "Mr. Vick" ?

Riddle me that.

I honestly think alot of you can't read.

Either that or you can't process the words as you do read them....

I'm NOT on "Team Vick" .... I'm on "Team Common Sense and Priorities"

Human affairs > animal affairs

Murder > DUI

Rape > Possession of Marijuana

Does that make it easier for some of you to follow?
