"The Brewers? Take a walk through their clubhouse after a game. There are so many bad vibes in that place it might explode. The Brewers are going nowhere."
So wrote well-respected sports journalist Richard Justice in Thursdays' Sporting News.
I have not heard that, but at the same time it does not surprise me. A lot of questions about this team go beyond the play on the field. The lack of leadership and accountability can only lead to problems on the team. I would bet some of the players are looking at each otehr right now and asking themselves what is going on. There are probably a couple players pissed at Hal, because he is asking for a trade which would alienate himself from his teammates and now when he gets playing time he is struggling big time in the field. The players probably know that the Gagne injury is fabricated, and I would think that would have many players pissed off, heres a guy getting 10 million a year while the team sidelines him with a fake injury and everyday players that produce make less than one million a year. The overall lack of leadership leads me to believe their could be problems. It leads me to ask this question, how often do you see a player from the Brewers talking to Yost during the game. Yost is almost always in the dugout alone unless talking to Mike Maddux, so I do wonder what the relationship is between Yost and the players.
i see that there are many cliches in the clubhouse...of course there are always certain guys who hang together...but here's how i imagine it
#1- Prince, Rickie, J.J., Sheets
#2-Braun(the only one acting as a man and a captain hanging with everyone), Hart, Para, Villaneuva
#3-Kendal, Counsell, Kapler, Shouse, Suppan
#4- Rest of Bullpen
#5- Bill Hall and Mike Cameron
Maybe I'm wrong but that's the way i imagine things
What exactly is a Clubhouse? Is it a fancy place with saunas, a game room, a pool table, a nice food court, and ladies to give massages? Or is it just a fancy name for a locker room?
