Okay, Ryan Grant was a very big relief to Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers, and he showed that he could be a good running back. Could be...................because he hasn't even played a full year where he shows his potential. He only showed flashes of a franchise running back in about 1/2 of last season, so it is way too early to be talking to the Packers about getting a long term deal.

The guy was great last season, and I picked him up before some of his breakout games on my fantasy team, and I loved to watch him play. I hope he becomes one of the better backs in the league. But Green Bay needs him to show that he is not a one-year wonder, ESPECIALLY with the retirement and loss of Brett Favre in his backfield.

ARe you kidding me,  the man single showed the kind of playmaker he was already last season.  The Packers went from  one of the lowest ranked rushing offenses in the league to one of the best, changing them from one dimesional to 2  with giving favre a chance to ease up.   Hes the reason the defenses couldnt drop 5 -6 back into coverage, because before he came, packers were avg less than 3.2 yards per carry.  This man came in  and rocked the place, taking control, and avg over 4 yards per carry, and scoring more TDs in the short time he was playing than some full time starters on other teams scored all season.  Hes the best RB they had since Ahman Green was in his prime.  also with NFL contracts not guaranteed, and the shortened life of a running back, they should be glad hes not being a distraction calling out ownership, and still working out in green bay unlike alot of the selfish recievers in the NFL.

The man is not Chad Johnson, not over rated like shockey, and will help arron rodgers become comfortable as a starter. So pay him his money.  Ill tell you there are plenty of teams in the NFL who would love to have this guy

I agree in a sense.

I would like for players to live out their contracts before the ask for big, long term deals but I think Grant is a unique situation. He is a guy getting paid peanuts while other guys around him are getting paid big Bills for half the work. He will be a feature back in a system that will depend on him more than ever. He proved he is a NFL caliber guy who can handle a workload of 20+ carries a game.

I would do the same thing he is doing. He should get a raise equal to the workload he will be expected of. I think the Packers should look at his performance last year and realize this is not a Javon Walker asking for more money on his money, this is a guy asking to get paid based on his willingness to carry a team.

I think the half-year warrants a pay increase (but not the big-bucks) with incentives for next year provided certain criteria are met 1000+ yards, 12+ tds etc. during the current year.
