As I was saying we have heard forever that this team WILL score runs. The eight years of losing corresponded to the arrival of Adam Dunn. Maybe somewhere else, probably in the American league where he can DH and not be a defensive liabality he might help, but the occasional tape measure home run, usually with no one on base, hasn't made the Reds a winner with any degree of consistency.
And there must be someone who can shag fly balls in their farm system and hit better than Corey Patterson's .189.
Between Baker, Dunn and Patterson the Reds have wasted 19 million dollars this year, and they'll owe Baker another six. So is it better to lost the war or admit the mistake?
Apparently, Kashca, nobody in a position to do much about this agrees with you, me or the dozens of other people who post on this. I am not as down on Dunn as you are, but the team will never win with that sort of player in the everyday lineup.
Mostly I think we were just hoping to be respectable this year, go from there.
