Turkey does it again, but this time when they scored the game tying goal in the 86th minute Germany retaliated in the 90th to sink the comeback kids of the 2008 Euro Cup. Don't get me wrong I love the up tempo play of the Germans, but I always root for the underdogs when one of my teams aren't in it.

Did anyone see the video feed in Istanbul when the Turks scored the first goal? Red flares and thousands of people celebrating in the streets and I'm pretty sure it was after midnight their time. What a great atmosphere.

So congrats to the Germans, because I do love yelling "SCHWEINSTEIGER!" whenever he touches the ball.

Its too bad, i was really rooting for the Turks. They played a better game, and at least deserved extra time. if not the out right win.
I did see shots of Istanbul, it was cool to see. I love it when sports works, and brings a country and fans together. It all too often happens that people are stupid, and burn police cars and even kill each other.
I was at a Football match (European football) and saw some holigan type of stuff and it was scary. lets hope the rest of Euro 2008 ends on a good note.

Great effort by the Turks, they left it all on the field but just fell a little short.  Considering all of the suspensions that they were faced with its incredible that they even kept it close according to the expert opinions.  It is great to see all of the television exposure that we are getting for the sport, and Americans are finally exposed to true "soccer", and the madness that comes with it.  Go Russia !!!
