In every single grand slam, we all see the Americans out before the 3rd round except for the spoiled brats better known as Serena and Venus Williams. They are so happy when they win and they are sore losers when they lose and can't be gracious to their opponent. I do not want them to be the face of american tennis because all they care about is fashion and not about their own game and this is why all they can win is Wimbledon and Australia (Serena). As for the men, Roddick and Blake always go out before the second week and ever since the loss to Gasquet last year at Wimbledon up 2 sets, he has faded away. Right now, Donald Young, Jesse Levine and even John Isner have not lived up to the hype. It is heartbreaking to watch and maybe things will change in the US Open, but I don't know if there is any hope for American tennis.
As for another subject, I heard someone call Maria Sharapova the most overrated tennis player and if you have won 3 majors, you are not overrated. How about Jelena Jankovic or Amelie Mauresmo or Svetlana Kuznetsova. Ivanovic gets huge love from the tennis gods and the gods love the upsets.

Women's Champ - No idea, maybe Ivanovic ( I Hope its not the Williams sisters)
Mauresmo beats Serena tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!

Being an american tennis fan, I really hate the play of the Williams sisters, arth654562 is dead on. We have been blessed as americans with great play from sampras, agassi, connors, courier, for so long that we forget what its like to enjoy the international players. This is the beauty of tennis

I don't care what country the top players are from - I just want to be able to see them. I also want to see the best matches. Thank you very much (not) NBC and ESPN yesterday morning for showing NONE of the 5th set of the quarterfinal for the men (finishing due to rain) that went extra games (no tiebreaker last set at Wimbledon) while showing all of Venus Williams' relatively easy match when they were going on at the same time. it's why American sports coverage STINKS.
And the Williams sisters - MAYBE I wouldn't mind watching them if they respected the game's traditions by wearing some more standard tops - ie no low cuts where Serena's front is about to pop out, exposing more than 1/2 of their back, etc

What's wrong with American tennis seems to be in the male arena....maybe they just don't want to win as badly or aren't as motivated. Roddick started out Wimbledon OK, then lost it. I think James Blake could be outstanding, but also seems to fizzle. As for the Williams sisters, I think it's unfair to group two people with different personalities and styles as though they're one. I think of the two, Venus dresses tastefully, is polite when she loses, and seems to have mellowed in her demeanor - she was always the calmer one to begin with, imo. Overall, I think there's been enormous interest and emphasis of the sport in Eastern Europe (Serbia, e.g.) and Russia which seems lacking in this country.

Looks like you where wrong fool not only did the Williams sisters dominate I couldn't be happier that Venus won #7 count them arth6545632 that is 4 more then Sharapova. Let me tel you she won the slams everybody really cares about any ways 5 Wimbledon and 2 US Opens.
Hey did Sharapova ever win a career Grand Slam? No Serena did 3 Australian, 1 French, 2 Wimbledon, 2 US. How you like those apples?
Know onto childish behavior seems like Sharapova had a little melt down whats the matter can't handle a little wind. Love the tux look!!!!!! But I guess thats OK because when your a leggy blond we overlook that. Of course there was Little MISS BRAT Ivanovic.
No wonder why when the Williams sisters weren't always winning Henin used to destroy the competition 6-1 6-2 last year over Ivanovic at the French. They are weak and pathetic.
Well I can't wait for Venus to come home with Gold and more Gold in the doubles. Then come US Open time it would be nice to see Serena to get #9 slam so she moves up to #8 in the all time Women's Grand Slam Titles.
Then again Venus would be nice to as at least the ratings dial would go up as they did this years Wimbledon highest since 2005.
