Douglas-Roberts is the man baby.  He can get to the rack and create his own shot.  I cannot believe he was still available.

I agree 100%. Like you said in another post, I wanted the Nets to get Arthur at 21, but oh well. We got Lopez and Douglas-Roberts.

I was at the Nets training facility where they held their draft party (and had their war room)

The place went nuts after we got Lopez and was dead quiet after we picked at 21. Then everyone left because the party ended at 9:30.

Either way, I think we can compete next year, but in 2010, we have to be the front runners in the Lebron sweepstakes.

Great day Brook Lopez fell and CDR fell right into the Nets lap, if they picked Arther with the 21st pick the day would have been amazing but hopefully Anderson will produce.

Great day for the Nets. First of the Yi and Simmons trade for RJ is a good move. RJ is a ball hog that jacked up a lot of bricks and traveled everytime he drove down the lane. Then the draft goes even better, Brook Lopez and Chris Douglas-Roberts fall right into the Nets laps and their pick wasn't bad. Now I think they should sign Klayton Korver from Drake who is Kyle Korver's brother. He is a Korver so he can shoot, and maybe it will make up for the mistake of the Nets trading away Kyle after they drafted him. Nets are moving in the right direction. Lebron in 2010!

nyer45 its funny because a lot of people didn't know Anderson.  This kid led the Pac-10 in scoring.  Even better then Bayless.  He is a very polished scorer at 6ft9.  He's another reason if Bochi goes that fine.  He's got unlimited range and unlike Bochi he can post up.  He'll never be a top defender but offensively the sky is the limit.  I really feel like he compares to one of my all-time favorite Nets Keith Van Horn.  I'm really excited to see what this team does in the next few years.  I think we have a well rounded team with a terrific bench.

Frank has so many combinations to go to this year.  He has no excuses.

I know Lopez is talented and supposed to be a steal at 10, but I still don't like the guy. First off, he's another 7 foot twin from Stanford....enough said about that. Secondly, he's a goofy bastard. Watching him get beat down in the tournament this season, he looked completely lost out there and intimidated when the stakes were raised and he his happy go lucky goof-ball act wasn't effective. Who knows, I could be totally wrong, but I am not sold on him. The "experts" seem to think this is the greatest move ever, and I hope theyre right, but I am personally nervouos about that one.

As far as the other two go, I am more than psyched. Anderson can flat ouot shoot, and thats an aspect to our offense thats been missing for years. And Douglas-Roberts in ROUND 2!!??!?! That's just a gift. I can see him turning into the next VInnie Johnson.

Overall, I am very happy with what the Nets did in the draft. They have to break down the old Kidd model, and build something new. We got alot younger and bigger, which is definatly something we needed. I just hope this clown Lopez actually pans out.

Bigtime, I'm not complaining about Anderson, I actually wasn't surprised that we drafted him because I saw a mock draft that had us getting him there. He's very similar to a Chase Buddinger, a tall guy who can shoot, which will cause match-up problems.

I just thought Arthur dropped too far. Like you said, we have a lot of combinations, and he could've been a top 10 guy. I wouldn't have minded if the Nets drafted him and let him grow in time for 2010. However, I think the Nets were set on drafting Anderson no matter who was there at 21.
