Sam Bradford had a great freshman season, keeping in mind that he was freshman.  He threw to no real weapons on offense, Malcolm Kelly could not stay on the field consistently.

I am not so sure that Bradford is a top 5 pick in the 2009 draft, when I think he will definitely declare if he has a season even similar to the one he had as a freshman.  The top 5, the top QB's will be Matt Stafford and Tim Tebow, Michael Oher, Beanie Wells, and Michael Crabtree, not in that order.  Someone will take a chance on Tebow for his once in a lifetime athleticism.  After that, it will depend on who fails.  If a team like Oakland is at 6 and JaMarcus Russell shows any sign of promise, they will pass on a QB.  The real threats to taking Bradford are from teams like Detroit or SF, two teams that will be bad and do not have a young, incredibly talented QB.  Based on the talent on the Bears, I think they will have a top 10 pick, so it could be a realistic possibility.  Curtis Painter would not be bad though.  Or Graham Harrell if he can prove that he can play in a pro offense.  Ditto for Dan LeFervor.

Injuries aside the Bears probably beat out the Skins for the last playoff spot a season ago.

How about because the Bears lost their top WR's, the defense is one year older, and because the team did not make any major upgrades in the offseason.

You must not have been alive during the Kordell Stewart and how far did that get the Bears in 2003.  Plus was there a mobile qb that won the super bowl.  I guess you can say Steve Young but I still believe he was more of a passing QB then a running QB.  The problem with moblile QBs is they start focusing more on the running part of their game then the passing part of the game which is the reason they are on the team.

I just graduated from Purdue, and got to watch Dan Lefevor do his work first hand.  Although we beat Central Mich both times we played them, he put up sick numbers against our defense. Granted our defense is average in the Big Ten, it is still a Big Ten defense. Just check out his numbers both over the course of last season, and just in the bowl game against us.  And as far as being mobile, this guy can flat out RUN.
