Yea, if you hid from Police for days after being seen drinking at a club, then get into an accident and run away you should get an automatic DUI and there should be a law addressing this issue.

D. Waltrip, the NASCAR racer did the same thing when he was wasted and flipped his Toyota Tundra near his home in North Carolina.   He basically ran home and then didn't answer the door for 3 days until he had nothing in his blood.

That would be contrary to our entire legal system (innocent until proven guilty, establishing a body of evidence and probable cause in pressing a charge etc).  The charge would have no merit without evidence, a witness to an accident only proves that the driver was involved in an accident, not that he was driving under the influence.  This holds even if you were witnessed drinking somewhere earlier.

ive actually witnessed this happen before. a kid I know was HAMMMMERED DRUNK after leaving a football tailgate early. he rear ended someone on the way home, going at least 30mph. his truck was barely running after the impact, but somehow he managed to speed away (it should be known, I was in the vehicle during this time; not the smartest decision to get in the car with him). he went to his house and shut himself inside for a few days. cops came knocking, and he kept hiding. the obviously knew it was him due to the fact that the truck in the driveway was still smoking and looked like it hit a wall.

anyways, after a couple of days letting the alcohol get out of his system, he turned himself in. low and behold.... NO DUI!!!! just a plain on hit-and-run.

it was really messed up, I think he definitly deserved to get a DUI, however, if I was in his shoes I'd had probably done the same thing, cuz he was probably looking at doing some time for that.

LYNCH WASN'T DRINKING

multiple witnesses said so, and the police found no evidence of drugs or alcohol. he didn't even know he hit anything (if you read the full report and not just this clipping) which the DA has also confirmed so it's not like he went to hide it. he swerved to miss one girl who danced into the street and then went home not realizing his mirror clipped another.

Like any one of you hasn't ever had some kind of freak incident ever in your life? If he wasn't Marshawn Lynch no one would have cared. I was a parking valet for 4 years in college. I have seen worse sh*t than that happen on the job because stupid drunk girls decided to jump in from of moving vehicles thinking they were a cab. I would be more interested in what in the hell two drunk chicks were doing dancing in the street when traffic was coming? Why not check THEIR bloodstreams for party drugs and the like? Most rational people don't F around in traffic at night.......just saying!!! Give Lynch a fricking break here if you don't know what was really going on! Sh*t happens. Too bad that wench got knocked out by his mirror?? Really? Could have bee WAY worse!
