oh I see you are a Bills fan......what would you say if S. Merriman had hit a woman and left the scene?.....this is a joke....anyone else would be charged with felony hit and run...and this guy buys his way out.......f*ckin joke!.....and his attorney says losing his license is "a little harsh"....now being out at 3:30 in the morning in the BAR district....tells me booze was involved and he probably drove home so as not to get a felony dui( involuntary manslaughter or attempted I guess)..I dont think he deserves the death sentence, but a $100 fine and loss of a license is pretty weak!.......HE INJURED A PEDESTRIAN...where I come from that is a crime!

Hmm? Let's see the average Joe hit someone and run and see what happens.  You try and you'll be crying a F*N river.  Marshawn's money = a slap on the wrist.  This a big deal he could have killed someone, get a clue.  Rhino422 it's people like yourself that are destroying this country, it's people like you who want zero accountablity, it's gross.  I expect more from a Bills fans, grow up!!

Are you an idiot or what !  How about this...you go slam into a pedestrian, run and then say you didn't do it and see where you land...I am willing to bet you get more than a 150  fine and loss of license. This is a total joke and so are you !  Should make people have an IQ test before they allow them to post anything on here !

You must come from outside of this country then because in over 90% of the cases comparable to this, Marshawn got exactly what is normal.  Probation, suspended license, minimal fine, and court costs.  If Merriman did the same thing in the same fashion, he would most likely get the same thing.

And when did Marshawn ever state he didn't hit her.  The reason his attorney said losing his license was a little harsh is that it was indefinite.  In almost all cases like this, the charged will lose their license for 30 or 60 days.   The problem here is that when Joe Public does the same thing, you don't read about it unless you are a fan of the police blotter.  And they are usually not threatened with suspension from their job unless the issue is directly associated with their job activity.

And I am a Bills fan but also worked in the court system and have seen this numerous times with the same issue.  And btw, 7 stitches and a bruise and you want a felony??? I've seen people trip on a sidewalk and end up with that.  And if we treated all issues like this as a felony, you would have a major backlog in the court systems and the jails because it happens a lot more than you like to think.  And any attorney worth a darn, including public defenders, would most likely have their client handle it exactly as Marshawn did.  First time offender, minimal injuries,  in a situation where it is feasible to occur as stated... the punishment is pretty consistent whether it was Marshawn or  someone like you.

Just read your response.....in rebuttal,

I was BORN in this country and I don't need some court clerk telling me what happens in our justice system.....I have had plenty of experience on both sides of the law...and he did say that he "had no idea I hit someone, I thought it was a pothole or something".....too bad you cant read your own local script.....and as to the "7 stitches and a bruise"...they didn't happen from her falling on the sidewalk...IT HAPPENED BECAUSE SHE GOT HIT BY A CAR!...and just how many people have you seen do that on a sidewalk?....more than one something ain't right~!..is there something in the water these days up there...cuz you made absolutely no valid statements in your post...omt..if the courts have a standard fine/punishment set out for each breach of criminal code, instead of looking at each case individually  .....then what does that say about our Justice system?  Every single crime has a different set of circumstances...even serials......you really should have tried to finish night school.....
