MArshall has literally made two terrible pitches and right now the Sox are making him, and every other pitcher, pay. Both of them get hit out, and the offense went right back to the clubhouse with Lou, who was trying to fire this team up and it hasn't worked. They are definitely playing like they want to get out of there. Offensively, they are letting Buehrle jam them consistently, but sadly none of these guys makes an adjustment. Lee with two strikeouts, Ramirez remains hitless on the south side. With no Soriano, when the two guys in the middle don't hit, we don't win because there are three or four other guys slumping as well. At least we lead the division by 2 1/2 games but until we start getting more consistent starting pitching we won't be for long. When we hit, the starter gives up seven runs. When we get a decent start, like tonight from MArshall, who has done what he has been asked to do, we put together a four-hit attack and the one scoring chance we had got screwed by a lovely one-pitch at bat by Ronny Cedeno, who I would gladly see in Iowa as the starting shortstop. AS I type Soto continues his quest for the strikeout lead in the NL and DeRosa does his best to keep pace. These guys have given up.
