From an article online at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution website:

"After three years, after playing hurt, playing every day, going in every day whether I got a hit and never complaining, I just played because Bobby [Cox] kept putting me in the lineup," Francoeur said. "But I just felt like a little three-minute thing — 'Hey, you're going down' — I feel like after three years, I was owed a little more of an explanation. But that's Frank's deal and that's what I guess they decided to do.

"My question is, what if I had hit a home run or had two hits [Thursday night]? Does it delay it one day, until I was 0-for-4? I was left standing outside in the dark on that. You almost felt like they had made [their minds] up before the game. That's where I felt frustrated, where I felt a little betrayed."

I don't think this is going to go away for Jeff Francoeur or the Braves as easily as some seem to think. I hope I'm wrong.

I hate to say this but.......

Frenchy will be traded

he's in double A now
to show prospective teams that he still can hit

expect him in a trade
(with another fan favorite)
(to an AL club)
before July 31

what a revelation!

Go Braves 08!!

Good god!! Did Jeff bother to think about the fact that he isn't producing? He can bitch and moan all day long...but in the end, he wasn't gettin it done. What are we supposed to do? Keep him on the roster that one extra day so that he wouldn't feel betrayed? Give me a break!!!

Take your demotion like a man, and go work it out.

Although I feel Jeff's pain he has no further to look for blame than the mirror. He has had AMPLE time to turn it around and hasn't.

This is a performance based decision -- pure and simple. If after a couple of days he can't come to terms with that then that's his problem.

I was against sending him down from the beginning but now it's happened it's time for Jeff to put on his big boy pants and deal with it.

After three years, after playing hurt, playing every day, going in every day whether I got a hit and never complaining, I just played because Bobby [Cox] kept putting me in the lineup,"

Well Whoop-te-doo!!! A hard lesson to learn in life is that there is no reward for doing what's expected of you. Isn't the old saying " what have you done for me lately " entered Jeffs mind. Lord knows people hear it everyday when they bring up past accomplishments at work.

Jeff is locked up until 2011-- then he's eligible for free agency. I personally don't see him being traded because his value is so low right now. His potential growth is still high so I hope we hold on to him.

Yeah there has been some quotes in the paper the last two days but that doesn't bother me at all.

If he's still upset in a month then we know where he stands in his relationship with the Braves.

I think the hardest thing to remember is that these players are just employees of the Atlanta Braves. In most jobs there are performance levels YOU MUST MAINTAIN. He hasn't hit those figures and just like in real life if you can't perform then hard decisions about your future with the company must be made.

I wish him a swift return.

I don't see the Braves trading Frenchy or Tex this year.

Well, in the past it has been a way to get a quick exit out of the Braves organization when one calls out the management or leadership brass.  It will be interesting to see how they handle this.  I learned a lot about Jeff in this situation.  Placing yourself above the rest of the team makes me go sour on you personally!

Betrayed?

well i feel betrayed b/c of his poor performance so far this year.

i don't really want him to be traded b/c jeff has some tremendous upside. he is still only 24 and has had an outstanding career (until this season). If the Braves do trade him they better get a lot in return.
