I think CC makes the Brew Crew legit.  Whether he will sign and stay long term is unsure right now, but for the rest of this year, it will be very interesting.  I applaud the Brewers front office for a gutsy move.

"None of my posts were meant to be personal and although my typing may be a little off, my involvement in these blogs does not determine my love for the Brewers or the game."

No ill intent was taken just giving you some crap, brotha.  All Brewer, Cardinal, White Soxs, Astros, Reds, Gator fans are gonna get some crap from me.

"Maybe i do only join in for subjects centering around my favorite teams, but i dont have time to do this most of the time...."

I don't care when you join in and it has nothing to do with your loyality.  If you say you're a die-hard then it doesn't matter what I think.  You're a Brewer fan, and I'm a Cub fan. Simply as that.  And I'm gonna give you a hard-time without being dsrespectful.  No ill intent on my part.

"The thing about my sis-in-law was my attempt at humor"

I sensed the humor which is why I responded with a sarcastic comment.

"So goodluck and hopefully we'l both make it, but man i wanna c the crew get somewhere and finally capitalize on SOMETHING!!!!"

Same to you guys as well...okay, now that we got that mushy crap out of the way.  Lets get back to some trash talk.

So what still bothers me is that the Brewers are only now being called "the team to beat" all over the place, but why just now?  Were they not a threat prior to this signing?  Did they not take a young team down to the end lastyear, just to blow it at the end?  If one player can turn an entire team and season around then 17.5 mil is a tiny price to pay!!!  I just think they were a contender b4 C.C. and im sure he'll get them twice as many wins as whoever he'll knock out of the starting rotation, but thats not gonna be the only answer down the stretch.  I wonder what they'll do to fill a spot in the middle relief area?  The Cubs r gonna dig in now.  I heard Burnett as a possible attraction for them.  Anyone else hear that?

If it takes away attention from the Cubs that's cool with me.  But you just now acquired a Cy-Young award winner so that may be why.  I think most die hard baseball fans know that the Brewers were and/are one of the legit teams in the National League.  They weren't on the ESPN-radar until this deal went through.  Now Buster Olney and Tim Kurkijan will have to pay attention to the N.L. Central.

"The Cubs r gonna dig in now.  I heard Burnett as a possible attraction for them.  Anyone else hear that?"

I've heard that and everyone other trade scenario regarding pitching.  Heck just head over to the Chicago Cubs forum, and you'll read some interesting trade rumors.  Some our out of this world while others take some serious imagination.  I love my Cubs but to be honest, Burnett just doesn't seem like he'll be a Cub this season.  Hopefully, I'm wrong.  But the Cubs are gonna have to go after a second-tier pitcher.  With the new ownership and weak farm system.  It may not be in the cards.

Good move Melvin! It is about time we finaly got a player instead of dumping one!! This makes the NL central even more interesting to watch!! As a life time Brewer fan I am very pleased today that the days of Bud the dud are gone!!! We finally have an owner and GM prove to me that they will make the risky move!!! The sure thing would be just to sit back and watch the year unfold!! But that means they would sit there and keep their fingers crossed that the Cubs and Cards take a dump.  But I'm a Brewer fan and that scenerio NEVER happens so face it True Blue our luck stinks!!! But after yesterday maybe the ol'days have finally passed---even if it is only for a half a season!?!  We now actually have an owner (Mark Attanasio) who can see the whole picture---if you have a good product people will buy into it!!! Yesterday the Brewers went out and picked up an Ace in CC and they now can actually be called by some a contender--premature maybe but at least it is a start!!! I know we are probably renting him and the Brewers aren't the flashy team with the high capacity band wagons to fill up!!! But finally as a Brewer fan this year I can actually say it ain't over till its over!!!!!!!!! I would like to thank all the baseball fans out there that gave the Brewers some props that they might have a chance now with CC!! I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed for a while---Sheets is always a doubt as we all know!!! But its nice to actually be looking forward to the 2nd half of the season for once early as it may be!!! Go True Blue Brew Crew!!!!!

I still don't think that the move even puts them in the postseason and if they don't then they got to sign Ben Sheets and C.C
