White Sox All-Stars are announced

The players selected Carlos Quentin and Joe Crede to the 78th All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium.

Jermaine Dye needs our votes as he is one of five players nominated for the AL's "Final Vote" candidates.   As they say in Chicago, "Vote early, vote often!!"

I think it's time to let the players choose the starters, the managers choose the reserves, and the fans choose the players for the "Final Vote."

The fact that David Ortiz was voted in as a starter, while struggling through half the season before he got injured, is proof that the voting system needs to be changed.

Yes the All-Star game is a joke, it's only a popularity contest, from the fan voting, to the manager selections.  Even the Sox selections make no sense.  Why exactly is Joe Crede an all-star? He now has 16 errors, and even his offensive numbers are not in the same league as ARod, Lowell, and Longoria.  Is it because he's been on webgems a lot this year???  And how can Dye not make the team?  I think right now he has gotta be top 3 MVP cantidates in the AL, and he's not on the team?  Gavin Floyd?  What about AJ?  Not only is he hitting .300 but he is the catcher of a pitching staff that has drastically over-achieved.  The all star game isin't fair, because only the fans of their own teams know who actually has been an all-star

For the Sox I would have picked: Jermaine Dye, Carlos Quentin, AJ Pierzynski, and Gavin Floyd

And if you absolutely had to leave someone off, it would be CQ, because Dye has had a better season currently at a corner outfield pos. as well.  I don't know how they looked at the two of them and compared and picked CQ, as much as I love him and think he is an all-star too.

It is disappointing to see the lack of well-deserved respect our players have received, but I say let the league overlook us. It will be that much sweeter in late October.
