Okay that thread title might not be totally accurate, but it illistrates my point...

Michael Jordan, -- you have no center, Emeka Okafor, Gerlad Wallace, Jason Richardson and Raymond Felton...what do you do in the draft?? Charlotte is a developing team, I feel wrong saying they are re-building because they have never been "built" per se. But because they are developing they need help from the draft, with MJ they will never be able to improve the way they could if they had a decent drafter.

Larry Brown -- He likes teams anchored by veterans. The team will never develop because he doesn't like younger players...He has already blasted Emeka Okafor in the past when he was head coach of Team USA, leading to speculation that Okafor will leave. Many people actually forget that Darko was actually a very good player, maybe not a 2nd pick player but a top 5 and defintely top 10. Larry Brown didn't play him and to this day he hasn't developed.

This is quite possibly the worst pairing of HC and GM for a developing franchise, Charlotte will be bad this year...

It worked in Detroit, because they could afford a bad draft (a la Darko) and didn't need the rookies to develop (a la Darko) because they still have a strong squad. They had a core of veterans that Larry Brown could have confidence in...It worked...

But for a developing franchise and this pairing will not work...

Since you claim that Larry Brown hates this roster,

Could you please explain to me why Larry Brown would even bother to take this job?

Larry Brown is a team building genius. Have you done your research on Larry Brown? Obviously not. He's probably a better college coach than NBA coach, but still the man deserves respect.

That being the case, why would he work for a man who was only surpassed by Isiah Thomas as an awful team builder. Larry has set himself up to take the same fall that he did with the Knicks. I would of loved to see what he could of done with a playoff team.

I would of loved to see what he could of done with a playoff team. Exactly. He would have done better with a veteran/playoff team than the average coach but, yeah, you said it, he heas set himself up to take the same fall that he did with the Knicks.

I respect as a great college and veteran coach, but don't unleash him on a bunch of rookies...

If any of the Larry Brown/ MJ / Charlotte / Bobcats lovers (or just anyone) want to do an avi bet with me, I don't think that the Bobcats will get over 40 wins next season...with Larry Brown and MJ, in the East.

Phoenix and Dallas would of jumped at the chance had  Brown not already signed. Philadelphia and Milwaukee will be better than them. Atlanta will have a better record than the Bobcats even if they don't reup Josh Smith. I agree with you. There is no way Larry gets Charlotte 40 wins.

I feel awful for the city of Charlotte in regards to their Pro bball teams. Bob Johnson has such a man crush on Jordan, that he will allow Mike to make poor trades and drafts for years to come. After having to endure George Shinn,  North Carolinians deserved better.
