This past weekend, I went to this thing called Ren Fair located in Bristol, right by the border of Wi, and Il, I had a blast. I can't believe I missed out on it for 26 years. If none of you have done it yet, you must check it out.

They gave me the biggest tankards of mead I have ever seen. I had to use two hands to drink from it. I got my ass kicked in a joust(bad idea. 150+ lbs of armor, and a horse running fast with a 60 lbs lance. Bad equation. Especially after two of these massive tankards of mead.)

I got my ass kicked in a sword competition as well.

I did win the staff competition however. That was cool. There's comedian acts and everything as well. Got kids? Bring em down! They got an entire area set up for the kids as well. It's a blast. Check it out. Seriously.

Would I steer you guys wrong?

we have a renaissance fair here in NY, it's in Sterling, I've gone a few times.  My favorite part is the women in the old dresses with the large amounts of cleavage popping up.  (I know I'm a pig).  I did like throwing tomatoes at the guy locked in the yolk and the food was pretty good.

Go Bears

Interesting... will the fair be around this upcoming weekend? Something about getting the lil' lady all hopped up on mead makes me giddy . Oh, and the jousting sounds cool too.

The ren. fair is for wannabe actors with no talent and folks who are "light in the loafers".

1st ... have to agree with Pheloneous about the women or as some of them want to be called "wenches" and the push up corsets they wear, I actually met a few girls here in California that go to Devore where they hold the Fair, next time ask them what they wear underneath the "ruffles" ... usually a good sign of how interesting the women are dependent on their answers.

They didn't allow spectators to joust but they put on a show and why lie, nobody wants to be in full armor when it reaches over 100 degrees.

When you see guys and girls walking around with what seems to be 5 pounds of turkey legs, 64 oz of Beer in a huge Stein with women that don't mind showing some serious cleavage ... why lie the majority of California women are fake but who cares, you can never go wrong.

Tooljunkie,

Ren Fair is happening every weekend until the weekend after Labor Day.

I got to see those 5 lbs turkey legs as well and could not believe it. I won't lie, the food and drink is pricey, but it's well worth it. Folks in Ny and Ca, I can only imagine it's that much more expensive.

Taxman.... why don't you juggle higly explosive chemicals in the eisenhower expressway or something. When you blow up, I'll nominate you for the nobel peace prize.

One word... Dirndel !!!
