I'd say it's based on their track record. Harang's been the best pitcher on the staff, and in many regards the ONLY pitcher on the staff for the last three or four years. He's having a bad year. You don't give up on someone in the middle of his first bad year since the beginning of his career. I posted it earlier on today's game post; Steve Carlton lost 20 games the year after he won 27 ('72). Good thing the Phillies didn't give up on him until the mid 80's.
Bronson on the other hand, had a good 1st half of the 1st season he was with the Reds, but has been inconsistent and, at times, downright bad.
