How frickin' good has this guy been?  Are you kidding me?

.121 avg/.147 OBP/.182 SLG in Apr...but since then???!

.295 avg/.313 OBP/.443 SLG/93 OPS+ in May

.355 avg/.381 OBP/.527 SLG/133 OPS+ in June

.353 avg/.368 OBP/.706 SLG/167 OPS+

All this while playing a stellar 2b...

This guy is incredible.

I'll admit that I did not like the guy at all early on this season (probably because he was only batting a hundred-something). I thought he was the weak link of the team. However, he has proven me absolutely wrong, and as great as he is playing now, he seems to be getting better and better every day. I can't wait to see what he will be doing by the end of the season!

I've said it before and I stand by my thought - Alexei needs to lead off.

The OBP that you raise only further illustrates my point.

Orlando Cabrera is more suited for the 2 hole and A.J. needs to move down in the order.

When I watch the White Sox offense struggle, I find myself thinking, "If we can get to Alexei, then we can start a rally."

Get the most out of Alexei and take advantage of his high OBP!!

I've been singing his praises for weeks.  He's got it all.  I agree that he could lead off.  With the .350 BA over the last two months, I think he can get on base...but don't ask him to steal. You'd think that someone with his speed and athleticism would be better than 3 for 7.

I don't think Alexei was ever really trained on stealing bases, most of his caught stealings have come from pick-offs, he gets a huge lead and he definitely has the speed, he just doesn't run.
