I will agree to an extent that the Eagles don't need a star wideout.  What they should do is to go ahead and load up for the future in this draft at two skill-position needs in the first two rounds...RB and FB.

With the 19th pick overall, I believe the Eagles should take Rashard Mendenhall, or if he is already taken, Felix Jones.  This would address two issues...it would add instant depth and explosiveness in the backfield, and it would also provide insurance for when Brian Westbrook starts slowing down or gets injured.  If Philly doesn't want to spend the money to get a top-flight WR, putting Westbrook on the field at the same time as Mendenhall or Jones would create unbelievable matchup problems for any defense.  Throw Westbrook in the slot with Curtis and Brown...NO linebacker can stay with Westbrook in coverage AND that would create openings in the middle for a Mendenhall or a Jones to gain nice yardage up the middle.  NO safety can stay with Westbrook in coverage AND that would create downfield openings for McNabb to get the ball to either of the WR's or Westbrook in space.  Weapons aplenty if you ask me, which leads me to the second round.

With the 49th pick overall, I believe the Eagles could go in one of two directions...I think they should go with either Peyton Hillis, FB from Arkansas or Shawn Crable, DE from Michigan.  With Hillis, you instantly get at 260 lbs. a back who is extremely versatile.  He can block and catch out of the backfield consistently (unlike Josh Parry or Thomas Tapeh), he can become a short-yardage or goal-line back if Tony Hunt isn't ready to step up and take that role, and he can play the H-back type and move from the backfield to either end of the tackle box and further create matchup problems in the passing game.  As far as Crable goes, he is 6' 5", 246 lbs. with high 4.5 to low 4.6 speed, really good strength and he gets up the field.  He had nearly 100 tackles with nearly 30 tackles for loss.  This would instantly add depth at DE with Cole, Thomas, and Abiamiri...and up until Crable's senior year, he played outside LB.  His versatility would add youth and depth to the Eagles and would give them a rotation comparable to the Giants at DE.  Just my opinions.

That's why they picked up Tony Hunt

Everyone complains about the Eagles getting "weapons." Well guess what? We don't need them. Did anyone watch the playoffs this year?

Randy Moss dissapeared in the playoffs so don't tell me about him

Yes he was shut down in the playoffs but they made it to the play offs because they had Randy Moss! He was a huge factor in the regular season. In the playoffs he just got shut down.

Eagles need a stud receiver to make big plays.

I think your wrong but that's just my two cents.

The Patriots would have made it to the playoffs even if they didn't have Randy Moss. And judging by his poor performance in the playoffs they would have made it to the Super Bowl without him.

The key to the Pats was their offensive line, which got dominated in the Super Bowl. If you don't give your quarterback time to throw the ball it doesn't matter who the receivers are, cause they're not going to get the ball.

but if your QB has noone to throw to then it doesn't matter how long he has in the pocket... lineman can't block forever.  And Tom Brady is a completely different QB than Donovan McNabb.
