jns44 - you're right, Ben Braun is a very decent coach and there's no reason why he should be canned. He doesn't land a lot of top recruits, but he gets a lot of mid level recruits and makes them better than most would expect during their stays at Cal. So many guys that stay all 4 years. He rarely recruits great players that are dumb in the classroom.

I give him major props for all of that - especially the last point. Fewer and fewer college coaches emphasize academics, which is downright sad. The fact that Braun does is a great asepct of who he is and the players notice it and value it.

And even on the court he knows how to control himself yet stand up for his team.
