I grew up 10 minutes from UTA and have always rooted for it since the days of Tim McKyer - back when they had a football program.

Can't believe they actually made the Dance...congrats!!!  Party on Cooper Street!

Now...can you get the football program back?!?!

UTA isn't the Harvard of anything, however they fought hard and pre-season favorites SFA and Sam Houston  State choked.

I was at the game today, and it was a lot of fun!  A graduate of UTA long ago, it's great to see the hoops team do something.  Unfortunately the Memphis draw is going to be tough, but at least we're dancin'.  Congrats to Scott Cross and the guys.  They played hard today and came out a winner.

Got my undergrad from UTA.  During my time there (and since), the Mavericks made the NIT 1 time, the school built a fabulous football facility, only to drop the program and has done nothing since to upgrade the basketball program.  Part of the discussion when the football team was dropped was that it would free up resources to upgrade facilities and be more competitive in the other sports.  The last time I checked, the basketball team still played on a stage - hardly a good recruiting tool when you are trying to bring in top talent.

KUDOS to Coach Cross and the entire Maverick basketball team for digging deep and brining a championship to UTA.  It was a treat to watch the game on TV with my kids.  Now, if only the university will step up and provide the athletic programs with the resources they needs to take the programs to the next level.

A 16 seed has never beat a 1 seed...........there is always a first!  Good Luck!!

Congradulations to the Mavs Men's Basketball Team!  Watched most of the game on TV this afternoon.  I received my Teacher Certification there, and the education I received while there was great.  Now the Men's Basketball Team joins the Movin Mavs (the Men's Wheelchair Team) and the Women's Basketball Team (NCAA's last year).

Go MAV's!!

After all the years trooping out to Arlington from Dallas to watch UTA play in that ramshakle stadium called Texas Hall, I never thought I would see UTA win a championship. Great game today. I'm glad I got to watch history.
