I jumped on the bandwagon as soon as they drafted Sam Perkins- came to love Ro Blackmon, Brad Davis, James Donaldson and the rest of the over-achievers. I admired them for working their butts off to get to where they did. (Never much liked Mark Aguirre- he was better suited to the Pistons, anyway). Then it was okay if they got knocked out in the playoofs- you just knew they'd keep building until they made it.

But then they didn't.

I lost track in the Jason Kidd- Jimmy Jackson- Jamal Mashburn years. Too many prima donnas  for my taste. Don Nelson and his no-defense phillosophy turned me off.

Just recently came back around with Dirk, Steve Nash, and Michael Finley. Avery Johnson becoming coach and reinstalling at least a semblance of defense helped.

With Stackhouse, I get to see an old Tar Heel favorite, but that's all I have left of interest. While I think Kidd is among all-time greats, he just doesn't do it for me in Dallas. The core of young, developing talent had me interested in their future, not to mention present- but now it's gone.

Maybe it's time to pick a favorite Arena Football team to pass time between Cowboys seasons. Mavs are headed back to mediocrity.

Hey Mavs fans -

At the beginning of this season, were we ALL not saying... its all about what goes on in the playoffs? Now everyone is frustrated over  regular season loss.

Can we wait until playoff time to jump. Dont commit suicide just yet... Keep the faith!!!

Its now been 9 games, and some other peices are going to get some playing time over the next few games... Its not just Jason Kidd thats new. And he isn't Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. Thats not his game. He makes everyone else better. But there are 4 other guys that need to break in....

Antione Wright
Malik Allen
Jamaal Magloire
Tyronne Lue

Thats 5 of 12 new players. Let them get some more time together.

The Mavs will make the playoffs. Our core is pretty good. What if these guys can contribute also?

Giostar, Im all for "wait till the playoffs", problem is, they are 2 games from being left out of the playoffs! Yea thats what we said before the season, but that doesnt mean they need to play horrible in the regular season. Im still worried because they have only beaten sub .500 teams!

....and when they head back to mediocrity you'll jump off the bandwagon again like you did when they were a bad team.  Sounds to me like you've just liked them when they were good.  Let's see...liked them in the mid to late 80's when they were good....didn't like them in the 90's when they were bad, came back around when they started to get good again, now jumping back off when they struggle a little bit.  Pathetic.

Come see me at on April 1st! The next two weeks will determine who is real and who is not. The Mavs will be in either the 4th or 5th spot by April 1st, you heard it here first!

The Mav's are a lot closer to being a dominant team in the playoff's than most people think. Yes they are only 6-5 with Kidd but they could have easily won the LA, SA, and Utah  games. It appears they have found their starting 5 that they will go into the playoff's with (Kidd, Dirk, Dampier, Stackhouse, & Josh Howard), now they only need to settle on the second 5. It appears that JTerry will be the point guard first off the bench, with BBass @ PF, JMaglore @ C, Malik Allen @ SF, and probably Devon George @ SG. Both of these line ups give the Mavs lots of size, and guys who can score. As soon as TLue becomes available he may push JT to the SG spot, if thats the case then that will be a pretty solid 11 player rotation. Even when the bench gets shorter in big games a rotation of, Dirk, Damp, Stack, JKidd, JHoward, JTerry, BBass, MAllen, & JMglore is pretty solid!

Texasboy you have no clue, but I know you've heard that before.  From your looks you've never played sports.   It takes a while  for a player to mesh with a team - Dallas is completely changed while the teams they play have played 60 games together.  It takes time.

Dallas has won how many games in a row now? Meanwhile NJ has sank to 1/2 game of being out of the playoffs totally.

TexasBoy06, A lot has changed in the past week, huh. Now the Mavs are only 2 1/2 games away from having the best record in the west. As far as beating the sub 500 teams goes, at least the Mavs beat them, you can't say the same for the Spurs, Jazz, or CAVS who continue to lose to sub 500 teams!

4 Teams above Dallas - Spurs lost 4 out of 5, Lakers 3 out of 4, Utah 2 out of 4, NO 2 out of 4. hm!

Phoenix 1/2 game up won 4 in a row but look at their next 8. 6 on the road, @ Portland, Seatle,  Detroit,  Boston,  Philly,  NJ, then home against Houston & Denver. I 'm betting they lose at least 3!

Houston 22 in a row comes to an end this week. Next 7, 4 away @ NO, GS, PHOENIX, & SA. Home against Boston, Sac, & Minnesota. I'm betting they lose at least 4

Dallas won 5 in a row with 4 out of 7 @ home LA, BOSTON, SA, & LAC, then away against Denver, GS, & LAC. I'm betting they win 5 maybe 6

Lets see where your at come March 31st Texas Boy!
