Being a VT alumni there is no way to express the gratitude for a professional sports franchise coming all the way to Blacksburg in order to pay their respects.  This is a moment that will never be forgotten, God Bless the Yankees

i agree. it was an unbelievable gesture by one of the historic franchises in baseball. hope it never has to happen under those circumstances again.

Nice job by the Yankees, and all the other teams that have stepped up during a sad time! It was a grave tragedy that happened and its good to see all the teams and people who have stepped up to help this community get back on its feet!

as an alum of tech, i would also like to express gratitude to the Yankees. classy gesture by a great franchise. i'm hopping on the yankee badwagon. they are no longer 'the evil empire' in my mind.

I think it was a great move by a guy that is so hated around baseball. He seemed very genuine with his financial donation and with his team actually going there and playing.

It would have been something just to write that million dollar check but then to actually have the team go there and make those kids LIVES and show support to SO many that are still suffering while the rest of us just go on with our lives.

Great job by the Yankees as an organization and real great job by george steinbrenner for making it all possible.
