This is the makings of a great team. Between Donte Green, Arinze Onuaku, Paul Harris and Johnnie Flynn, these guys could contend for the Big East title next year. Jim Boeheim needs to find some way to make them stay at least one more year. I know it is unlikely, as Greene is projected to be a first round pick and Harris thought he could go to the NBA straight out of college. But if they stick around, and take one more year to figure our how to play well as a team, they will be scary good. They were very good this year, and the team was initially built around highlighting and playing around the skills of the currently injured Eric Devendorf. What a waste it would be to watch them go to the NBA, and ride the pine rather than run the floor next year.

On the Syracuse board, I asked about what the chances that they stay are.  Everyone seems to think Greene is about 60% on staying, and Harris is about 80%.

Let's hope they're right.

I'm thinking all these guys will be around for a couple years.

Greene would really kill his Pro Career going this early. He is much to unpolished and with the pool of talent coming out this years, it would be a difficult chance to be a #1 pick unless it was very late. I think he will be around until his junior season.

Harris would be a foold to leave and not stay 4 years. Flynn is ther for at least 3 if not 4 and Harris is not a Pro Body. He needs to truly work on his jump shot to have a chance.

You will see all these guys back next year. Otherwise you will never hear about these players again if they leave.

Actually I think Flynn has the most upside, such as a young A.I.

To say Harris does not have a Pro body is like saying Jordan isnt the best Bull ever.  Harris has an amazing, sculpted body.  He has developed somewhat of an outside jumper and I expect him to be a good outside shooter next season.  After next season depending on some things I wouldnt be surprised to see Harris leave.

Thumbs down to the whoever picks the seedings/matchups for the NIT. This should've been more of a Final Four matchup then 2nd round matchup. The 1st half of the game was more exciting than any NCAA Tournament game so far.....by far!!! Also, how can Maryland only be a 5 seed and why would they have to play two road games in 3 days??? Hats off to the Orange and their crazy fans who acted like they won the National Championship but I would've liked to see this matchup take place in Madison Square Garden where the Terps would've had a better chance.

Out of all of Syracuse's awesome starters, Harris is the only one I could see going to the NBA this year.  Even then, another year in college would just boost his chances at being a lottery pick in a year.

Flynn is awesome, but definitely needs another year or two.  Greene wasn't even Freshman of the Year in the Big East--what would make him think he is ready for the NBA?  The money drops off significantly once you get into the late 1st round and beyond, so why not stay and hone your skills to become a lottery pick in a year or two?

The Cuse could be a Final Four contender if all return, along with a healthy Devendorf and Rautins.  No question about it.

This team could easily have gone deep into the NCAA's if they were selected.  Their problems stem from #1 inexperience and #2 lack of depth due to injury.  You gotta think that the calming effect of Devendorf out there during crunch time would have really helped tremedously.  Rhode Island, UMASS, Georgetown the first time, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and probably a few others were games they couldn't sustain or finish off but with a few more scores down the stretch they totally pull off.  Extended periods of Zero points led to many late 2nd half collapses.  Throw in Rautins who lit it up to end last season and you have probably a top 3 Big East team THIS year.  At any rate they, talent wise, are right up there now.  It will be interesting to see how Boeheim and the boys adjust next year.  With or without a few of them the chemistry will be important.  If anything the carte blanche that Harris, Flynn and Green had was probably good for them.  Harris looked horrible at times but really got solid with his 15 foot jumper.  I think Green will leave.

I think a 6'11" shooter isn't that bad either with Green and I think a pro team would love to have him develop as a member of their team ie. Kobe,  Howard. It seems to be a pretty good risk at this point.  The best thing that happened to the Cuse was them not playing great.  It might have just kept this great young core together another year.
